5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Product
It is 100% polyester inside and out. It feels very spongy. The texture is like soft suede. I use it with the Kindle. When turned over, it looks like just another decorative pillow.

Well made product.

EDIT: Jan 2010 - my review was for the Sage color specifically FYI.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but not quite what I was looking for, July 18, 2009
The Peeramid Bookrest Pillow is very nice in appearance and would probably suit those looking for support when reading small, soft-bound books. However, my plan was to use the Peeramid to support the very large, heavy, and cumbersome soft-bound books used when studying for the bar exam. Unfortunately, the Peeramid, was not strong enough to support these books. The books simply crushed the top of the Peeramid to lap-level. Additionally, the support "lip" or base of the Peeramid is not very deep. So, again, if you intend to use it to support large or heavy books, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a book rest to help when reading/studying in bed or stand-alone chair. I have ordered a "Thai Book Rest" from Levenger and will test that one out to see if it works better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great for all books, November 26, 2008

This book rest is somewhat awkward and my books didn't fit very well. I ended up getting a Thai version which is a triangular backrest with a much larger base for the bottom of the book to rest on and it works great. This is an okay product but not the best out there.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, but not quite right..., December 23, 2009

This review is from: Hog Wild Peeramid Bookrest (Kitchen)
I think the idea is good, and with a little re-work these good be a great item.
They are a little smaller than I imagined, and since the peak height is only about 7 inches or so (if that), any book that is over about 7-8 inches just tips over backwards. The ledge that is built in (the rolled bottom) doesn't really hold the book. The crease is quite snug, and a book with any kind of thickness just doesn't fit in it, so you kind of end up putting the bottom of the book in your lap. The bookmark - can't quite figure out how anyone would use it. If you put it in the book as a marker, what are you supposed to do then? The book and the pillow can't really go anywhere together, not even rest on a table together.

The material (I got the burgundy) is actually quite nice, and the tassel is a nice quality. I did try this just by putting the book (hardback about 8" x 7" x 3/4" thick in my lap, and just laying it up against the pillow, but honestly you could do that with any sofa pillow.

Not worth the money, in my humble opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hog Wild Peeramid Bookrest, November 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this pillow!! I bought two a couple of years ago, one for myself and a friend who is also an avid reader. I just bought another one for another friend. I use mine every night when I read in bed. I lie on my side and prop my book up on this book pillow which allows me to read for hours in comfort because I don't have to hold the book up which tires my hand after a period of time, and it provides the perfect angle from which to read the text. The weight of the book is on the pillow and not on my hand. I don't know what I'd do without it. I highly recommend this pillow particularly if you read lying down. Sometimes I put another little pillow on it to vary and adjust the angle of the book.
The only downside is that the "rolled lip" on the bottom of the pillow is not deep enough nor wide enough for a book to fit into, regardless of the thickness, and it doesn't matter if it's a hardback or a paperback it will not fit into the lip. So the book has to rest on top of it. I was hoping that a book would fit into it and hold it open without the use of hands, but that's not the case, you still have to hold it open. But I wouldn't let that deter you from buying this pillow and I still recommend you buy one if you enjoy reading. It's of high quality and made well with really nice fabric.

5.0 out of 5 stars great low tech gadget, April 8, 2008
I love this thing, as a lap prop when sitting up, or as a bed prop when laying down. I've been using it with the Kindle and it works fabulously. we got one for me and I sent another to Mom.

5.0 out of 5 stars No More Cricks in the Neck!, January 13, 2009
Great for reading in bed... especially those heavy hard cover books! I also gave one to my elderly mother who has difficulty holding books secondary to arthritis and she loves it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bookrest Pillow fro Peeramid, August 19, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I got two of these, one for me and one as a gift along with a book.
The colour was beautiful and the tassle is cleverly, a book mark. It only works well with hardback books, which is exactly what I needed.
My friend was delighted with her gifts.

Delivery was a little slower than I would have liked, but still about two weeks, the promised date.

I would NOT have ordered it however, if I had known it was made in China. If I can find it somewhere else, I will order several more for other friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect size and support for Kindle DX, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Hog Wild Peeramid Bookrest (Kitchen)
I have a Kindle DX which I love because of the larger screen. However, it is a bit heavier to hold up than the Kindle 2. But this pillow is a great tool to help support the Kindle DX. It works with the "stand-alone" kindle or with the kindle safely sitting in its box.

It is comfortable and soft in your lap -- although the one I have is a chenille fabric which I find to be softer and cozier. The ridges are exactly the right width to match the DX. I also turn it upside down and that helps raise the Kindle DX up eye level when I'm slouching.

Overall this is a great reading tool and nice looking. I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars NOT A TOY, but a nice product, January 19, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great book rest for readers---it is almost weightless and can be placed on lap or chest, or positioned at your side,(have not tried it while laying on stomach yet). Good size for various sized books. While laying down, or sitting up it offers an additional support for the hands and arms. It has a bookmark. It is attractive to look at, too. Looks good on bed, or other furniture. And with or without bookmark, this "pillow" is easily put aside.
