Hogue 08714 Remington Rubber Overmolded Stock

This is the 2nd firearm I have with Hogue Grips. The problem with this one is, the actual rubber grip is not attached to the plastic that bolts to the shotgun. It just slides on, It is not as secure as it should be, they should have designed it with a bolt on the bottom like the grip they make for the Ruger SP101.
Spending $5 on some kind of plastic adhesive or liquid cement will fix this problem (which is what i will be doing) however this flaw should have been worked out in the design process...I'm giving this grip 3 stars.

I purchased two other pistol grips for my Remington 870 before settling on this one. The previous ones just didn't seem to fit right. This pistol grip fits perfect -- the rubber molding provides great control too. If you have a Remington 870 and you couldn't find that perfect pistol grip, your search is over with one of these Hogues.

It's safe to say that anything bearing the "Hogue" name on it, is worth every penny!.
It fits my 870 perfectly, and it's not loose, it's a solid, tight fit.

I attached this Hogue grip to a Remington Marine Model 870. Installs quickly an easily. It has a good thick heft to it. Makes this formidable riot shotgun look even more badass !

I haven't tried a pistol gripped shotgun in years, but I had an old 870 Express and a need to fit it into a small space, so I gave this one a try. The hardest part was removing the old stock from my shotgun, but when that was done this Hogue grip went on with no problem. It would be helpful if they included the right size allen wrench - even a cheap throwaway. The fit was perfect.

I shot it first with 12 gauge reduced recoil 8 pellet 00 buck, and it was surprisingly easy on the hand. I then tried regular 9 pellet full power stuff - still controllable, but definitely stung the hand a bit.

All in all, this is very well made product and I recommend it highly.

Really great pistol grip! If I ever buy another 870 I will buy another! I was a little worried that the kick might be to much for the grip and for me to hold on to, but it was perfect. Stays tight, and very easy to remove. And the kick isnt that bad with my 12 gauge :) Worth it don't even look for a better pistol grip: they simply don't exists.

After reading through about as many reviews as I could find, I chose to go with the less expensive NEF Pardner Protector instead of an HD Remington 870, as it is essentially a clone. I'd heard from many people that all accessories swap over, so I decided the Hogue Tamer was the grip I wanted. After pulling my old stock and mocking this up, all looked well, so I tightened down the screw.

To my dismay the grip wouldn't quite seat all the way against the body, leaving ~1/8" gap all along the interface (the diagonal line that starts right above the trigger in the picture). I tried reseating it, removing an internal spacer, about everything I could and it wouldn't quite fit right. The only obvious option would be sanding or dremeling down the lip on the grip itself, which I didn't feel like doing.

All that being said, the grip still felt solid. I took it to the range to try it out and to my surprise, it performs fine. It may not fit perfect, but it doesn't affect functionality at all, everything works fine. The rubber coating is great, it doesn't get slippery or too muggy with sweaty hands. I've got very large hands (usually XL glove size) and the grip feels like it fits perfect. As the grip isn't fit perfectly to my gun, the rear trigger guard is off a bit, but not noticeably. I still have plenty of access to the safety and the pump release.

I plan on keeping it and might sand it down eventually, but for now I'll live with the ugliness. Highly recommended purchase, great grip.

The grip has a great feel, looks really good and (most importantly) allows me to control the muzzle and recoil on my 12 ga. Even my wife likes the way it feels and shoots.

This stock was simple to install. I received the order very fast, in fact faster than I thought I would. Great product and service.

Like night and day. Hogue did the research to achieve a perfect
fit that feels and looks good.
