Hogue makes great grips, there is no doubt there, but when I was looking at these I thought the smooth aluminum would not help. With the nickname CPT PYRO, Flames are my trademark and my 1911 is my pride and joy so these where the perfect choice for me. I installed them in 2 minutes and I immediatley was satisfied. The look, and the feel is great. With so many options out there for 1911 grips it can be difficult to find the right ones for you. Hogue's Extreme Series Grips was the perfect choice for me
