This review is from: Hoh River (Steelhead River Journal, 3) (Paperback)
Authors of fishing books must run straddle a fine line between selling books and perhaps not giving away their favorite places to fish. There is not nearly enough information in this book. Mr. Probasco's coverage of flies is pretty good, but it is pretty apparent that he did not spend that much time on the river. The only map found in the book is close to useless. If you are looking for a "turn left at the forked stump and use an "x" presentation" book you are better off with "Flyfisher's Guide to Washington" by Greg Thomas. While Mr. Thomas doesn't cover the Hoh in great detail either, by the time you are done reading about the Hoh, Queets, Sol Duc and Bogachiel you will have a pretty good idea of how to fish those rivers. Mr. Probasco's book does have some beautiful pictures in it.
