Product Description

Chromatic harmonicas are designed to play every complete scale in any key. Each single hole contains four reeds: two natural notes and two chromatic notes. The reeds for chromatic notes are enabled by pushing the slide button on the side of the harmonica. This design offers a wealth of new musical options to the player. Most often, chromatic harmonicas are heard within the classical and jazz scenes, but...chromatics are frequently found in blues, folk, rock and pop music. The 64 Chromonica is preferred by professionals and semi-professionals for it's excellent reed response and bright tone over all four octaves. It features an extra octave in the lower register (below middle C), which makes it possible to play advanced repertoire.

I received my 64 Chromonica this afternoon. My mother brought it to me from my Aunt Dotty. It was previously owned by my Uncle Buddy. She also brought me a Koch Hohner harmonica from them also.

I have played and owned other harmonicas, but none like this one. This harmonica is the twenty-third and best harmonica in my arsenal. I love how the range extends down an octave below middle C.

When I played my Chromonica for the first time outside Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, and heard the low C for the first time, I was shocked and excited. The low C is the same pitch as the open C-String on the viola.

If you have the money for one of these, get yourself one. Chromatic harmonicas are the cream of the crop.
