5.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive way to check out classical guitar
This guitar looks nice and sounds good too me. I'm a rookie guitarist, and "House of the Rising Sun" is about the only song I can play presently. I bought this guitar because I didn't want to pay a lot of money for something perhaps better, and subsequently lose interest in it.

I think this item was on display as the neck showed dust between the strings and finish was marred a bit. The neck was also possibly very slightly bowed. But for the price I feel I got a decent beginning guitar for myself who does not intend to take playing the guitar too seriously. Nice sounding to me.

This guitar looks nice and sounds good too me. I'm a rookie guitarist, and "House of the Rising Sun" is about the only song I can play presently. I bought this guitar because I didn't want to pay a lot of money for something perhaps better, and subsequently lose interest in it.

One reason I bought this classical guitar (as opposed to an acoustic guitar) is because the neck is slightly wider and the strings further apart than on an acoustic guitar. My hands are large, and it makes it easier for me to finger the chords and notes without interfering with other strings. Also, the nylon strings are a little easier on the fingertips then steel strings are. These two guitar types sound differently, and I suppose an expert would buy a guitar based on the type of sound they wanted. I just wanted something cheap and as comfortable as possible for the price. This one worked for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't disappoint (for the price)., December 6, 2010

I've been an avid electric guitar player for the past 6 or 7 years. When I went to college it become a hassle to have to keep transporting my guitar, amp, and effects back and forth between home and school during breaks.

I had always been throwing around the idea of buying a cheap acoustic guitar so I could keep my electric guitar (and all associated equipment) at home while I was at school, but never found something I was willing to buy.

But then, lo and behold, came Amazon's Cyber Monday deals and I picked up this cheap little (note:full-size) classical guitar for $60 and free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime. My guitar arrived the next day (a nice little surprise).

I tuned it and started playing, and I'm surprised with how good a $60 classical can really sound. The tuning pegs are a little....off....but I can forgive that. You get what you pay for, certainly, but with this thing you get so much more than you expect.

Summary: Buy it if you're looking for a cheap guitar to mess around with or even if you're just starting guitar. This thing is absolutely unbeatable in this price range.

I bought this 2weeks ago bcuz i wanted to try some nylon string guitar. When i first bought it since the price was quite cheap I didn't expect much. But Last week I went to Guitar Center with my frend and realized that my 80$$ Hohner Guitar sounds way way much better that the classical guitars they sell there.
This Hohner guitar has a very warm and hollow sound but not that bright.
However, Im sooooo in loved with this guitar.
If you are looking for a decent guitar. pLEASE go for this one you wont disappoint.

This Hohner HC06 Classical Guitar is immaculate for a low cost nylon string guitar. It sounds great with good tone. It has a wide fret board that was perfect for my large hands. The fretboard looks like it is of synthetic material and plays well. The finish on the spruce top and wood body and neck was flawless. I am very glad I purchased this guitar and I enjoy playing it.

The Hohner HC06 has a rich tone, holds pitch well, and is sturdy. As a preschool through high school music teacher, I used mine day in and day out for several years and, other than a few scratches, it held up perfectly, that is, until a student worked really hard to break off one of the tuners. So I set this guitar aside for about three years, and when I picked it up again the strings (the five still remaining) had stayed almost perfectly in tune.

Looks good, very nice action, sound is good but decays rapidly, but given the price a minor problem. Great value.

I was looking for a guitar for my 7 year old son who's been wanting a guitar for over a year now. I spent countless hours searching for the perfect one. Knowing I was on a tight budget and couldn't afford to spend the $200+ that most "guitar people" recommend you spend on a good quality beginner's guitar, I wanted to make sure I was getting the best quality for the money I could afford to spend. I discussed my options with a friend of mine who has been playing guitar for years and knows what a guitar should sound like. He gave me few pointers, (teaching me some of the "lingo" along the way) and, after countless MORE hours of internet research, reading reviews, etc., I finally decided this guitar was the one I wanted to buy. Boy, am I glad I did!!!

I was very pleased with the look and feel of this guitar when it came. It sounded pretty good to me, too. But then again, not being a "guitar guy" (or gal) I was holding off my enthusiasm until I had a chance to have my friend check it out. He tuned it (all guitars are shipped out of tune so the strings are not overly stressed during the shipping process which would cause them to break) and he played several songs on it. He was very impressed with the guitar's intonation and sound quality. He did mention that the action was a little high as you move higher up on the fretboard but for a beginner, this is not a big deal and it can easily be fixed by filing down the saddle just a little bit. (See, told you I learned the lingo! LoL)

Overall, I would highly recommend this guitar for a beginner on a budget. You get a good quality guitar that looks beautiful and sounds great! After seeing this, my daughter now wants one for her birthday next year. I cannot wait to see my son's face light up on Christmas morning.

Box was a little banged up and maybe they should have placed in a larger box for protection. I was a little concerned that the item might me damaged, but it wasn't, so alls well. My guitar was brand new as advertised and absolutely beautiful!!!
