I bought this for my 2 year old who loves music, and was given a cheapo kazoo that she totally fell in love with. I bought 4 and I have yet to see one break, fall apart or otherwise become trash-fodder. They have a great sound (ok weird, but they sound better than the cheap dollar store ones my cousins buy they kids), there are no sharp edges, and the price is awesome. What more can you want...

ok....excedrin after 2 hours of straight kazooing, but it's worth it.

Hohner has a pretty good reputation. This little plastic kazoo is just fine for a little tootling when nothing but a kazoo will do. If you are a serious kazoo player (is that an oxymoron?), I suggest looking elsewhere. For entertaining the kids or for getting them interested in playing a a real instrument (sorry, kazoo lovers), a kazoo is a great place to start.

I just received my Hohner Kazoo from the seller and am extremely disappointed. Although item amount is never specified, the picture that accompanies the listing is for a jar of kazoos.

Now, I know that the pictures are not always accurate on Amazon but the original list price is $17.50 and the item weight is 8 ounces so don't think I am out of line for expecting more than one plastic kazoo. There is just no way that this is a $17.50 kazoo which means that I did not save 84% on this purchase when I paid $2.80 as it stated on the product page. I paid $2.80 for a $2.80 kazoo. Not much of a bargain when the same kazoo can be found at numerous sites on the web for 99 cents.

This is a great Kazoo. The one thing to know, is that the top part (with some effort) of the kazoo "does" come off. So if the membrane wears out or gets excessive moisture, you can either cut a small piece of plastic from a shopping bag, or better yet.. cut an actual piece of wax paper. Then put the top piece back in. I found that the wax paper sound louder, than the membrane that is pre-installed.

I purchased three Kazoos. They look nice. The tissue thin paper disc inserted in the bowl blew out of shape repeatedly on all three after just a brief moments use. Rendering it unplayable until you popped it open & flattened the paper. And then it would do it again.

I purchased 5 of these for my oldest nieces and nephews because whenever they come over to their Aunts house, they can't get enough of the kazoo's I have!

Can't complain about anything, especially the free shipping I got with these.

Also, they came in 5 different colors which is awesome! So I'm able to pick and choose for the little ones which ones they get, and they can't mix them up with each other and spread the germs around.

Great kazoo, the membrane is extremely reactive and bright compared to my Trophy 7401.

Sounds exactly like you think a kazoo should. Body is quality but can not change membrane so buy multiples if you plan extended kazooing.

Easily worth $5.

What's not to love about a kazoo (except for when they sometimes get lost and your kids can't find them)??? These are shipped quickly, and plus they do not need assembly (so, no worrying about cutting/inserting wax paper---not necessary at all). For a plastic musical kazoo you really can't go wrong. Other ones I have seen are thin and flimsy plastic---these are not. But then, leave it to good German engineering!! These are great. They also make terrific party favors for toddlers.

We got this for our 20-month-old daughter. For $1, it is a pretty good buy. It's not fantastic quality or a professional instrument, but it makes decent sound and has lasted a few weeks with no issues. We've certainly gotten our money's worth.
