Hohner should be ashamed to put their name on this little piece of china junk.

I may be a bit more negative than others due to the fact that I've owned accordions and concertinas for over 25 years. When I came across this toy accordion I assumed it would be of better quality due to it being a Hohner, which is a well known and reputable german accordion maker. If you play the accordion, don't expect to play anything, it leaks air, so you can't really play anything. Unfortunatley this toy accordion is just like any of the others available on the market with the Hohner name slapped on the tiny box it comes in. The accordion itself just has a small sticker (made in China) on it. So, if like me you expect this toy accordion to be a bit better in quality due to the hohner name, don't be fooled. It's no better or worste than the others I've seen. I bought two and one had better tone and sound than the other. Also, my 3 year old broke the strap which is a one piece (left arm and top/bottom snap to close bellows. Also, the bass buttons ended up bending requiring me to open the accordion and bending them back. Lasted 2 days before the strap broke and buttons bent. All the others on the market seem to be of the same quality, so expect this can happen. Again, it's a toy. For the price, it's worth it, just don't expect it to be better becuase it claims to be a hohner. If you're looking for a toy to get your kid interested, it's a great toy to buy, if you want him to learn to actually play, invest in a child's accordion for a few hundred, becuase, these toys are not really playable. For a toddler, it's fine and serves it's purpose.

This is a toy. It will make noise, but not music. The bellows on mine was separated from the frame and leaking air and had to be glued together. The keys are clunky and the vinyl straps have sharp edges and are very uncomfortable.

My husband plays the accordion and we purchased this toy accordian for our 3 year old grandson. He does not go anywhere now without it. It is well constructed and takes the sometimes rough handling from a 3 year old.

This little accordion is almost a musical instrument - so close! My problem with it is that the bellows can't hold enough air to play a complete phrase (different notes on in/out, so must have sufficient air per phrase). Also, a couple of buttons don't work properly - sound is weak.

It bothers me a great deal when junky toys are sold as instruments: kids or adults get discouraged from learning to play - sometimes for life! This accordion is not quite a junky toy, but it's a toy.

Would I give this to any youngster? Not if I wanted them to actually learn to play tunes - they might get too discouraged. As just a toy, I think it would be okay.

The original design was probably fine, then with cutting corners in the manufacturing process, the quality dipped below satisfactory.

Kids love it! Actually, it comes with a book so the musically-challenged parents can learn to play too!

I purchased this toy accordion for myself as a practicing tool and to determine if I elected to pursue a larger beginner model. I must say, I was amazed at the quality and sound of the product. The hand and thumb straps are made for a child's hand so I modified to fit mine. I've read a good number of negative reviews regarding the quality but then again, some kids are tough on their toys. So far, it's been a great deal of fun and eventually will purchase the Hohner Panther edition later this year.

This item is not worth the money. The strap broke the first day. The keys do not work all the time. Thank goodness the granddaughter doesn't know the difference.

My child wanted an accordion from Santa. Where can one buy a toy accordion other than Amazon? I chose the red one from Hohner. When it arrived, I was surprised at how small it was. But on Christmas morning, it was just the right size for my 5 year old. I showed her how to hold it and she was able to play. She refuses to let me show her how to play a song from the music that is provided. She prefers to make her own music. I would recommend this instrument, but keep in mind that it is loud.
