Bought this set for my 1 year old daughter. She really enjoys the xylophone, wave drum and rattle roller. Compared to other kids' xylophones, this one sounds much better: a nice clear sound and in tune. The wave drum has beads inside that gives it a snare drum effect when tapping it, and the beads make a nice sound when shaken. The beads and back of the drum appear to have been given a slight magnetic treatment to help keep some of the beads towards the center of the drum even when it's not perfectly level, helping to maintain the snare drum effect -- I like this attention to detail. So far the set is holding up perfectly despite some rough treatment, including my daughter throwing the xylophone out of her crib and standing on the wave drum.

The pictures in the product listing are misleading since they show the instruments at different scales: the xylophone and wave drum are much larger than the other three.

Also, for those that try to avoid Chinese-made products, this set is made in Israel. I don't know if Hohner's other products are made there too.

I purchased this for my 2 year old grandson. He absolutely adores it. It actually keeps him occupied off and on for hours and he is one active toddler. The noisier the better. Of course moms won't like the noise, however it is a good trade off if you have a toddler that is alwlays into things. Tyler loves the rattle toy. The drum is a bit muffled, however, the rest of the instruments make up for it. I would purchase this again.

My 12-month old loves this product, particularly the xylophone and the drum. The rattles are great and easy to hold too. A great little set!

It's hard to find musical instruments for toddlers, especially quality ones. Many band sets are junk or don't include pieces you'd like. This set is adorable, durable and includes the items you'd want in a set and not the ones you wouldn't. The xylophone comes with a little cardboard insert that shows you how to play four different tunes and it had a place under it to hold the mallet. It's durable enough not to scratch when my son "plays" it with a butter knife. The drum/tambourine has a cute under-the-sea pattern and the plastic covering is surprisingly supportive of a 23 pounder's foot on top of it. The maraca, bells and...twister? have grooved handles that are great for chubby hands and my son loves the twister thing. SO glad I found this and didn't give in to one of the bad quality other brands!

I bought this toy for my 6 month old son for Christmas. He loves "making music". His favorite is the drum. He has a great time playing the with my singing. The instruments are quality made and will last for years of fun.

My 2 year old daughter loves musical instruments. I was having trouble finding a xylophone that wasn't big and bulky, something easy for her to handle. This one fits the bill perfectly. The mallet is a much better shape than most round mallets, and even snaps onto the back of the xylophone for strorage. It also has a beautiful sound. I bought the instrument set because it wasn't that much more than the xylophone alone. The other instruments are just as great. The are the perfect size for her hands, and make fun noises. She loves them all.

With three grandchildren under 4 years old, I'm always looking for "group" activities. They enjoyed trying the different instruments in this set and creating original music together. Colored music scores are included for use with older children.

Got this for a friend's 1-year old and she loves it! I wish it was still available for my son.

Got this for my 13-month old daughter for Christmas and it was a huge hit. She especially loves the xylophone and tambourine and was able to figure out how to use them right away.

Our baby (bought when 7 months) is very entertained when we play the hand bells, she even tries to make them ring. The wave drum is very durable, ours has been stepped on, stood on, dropped on tile (many many times) and is still in perfect condition! She even likes the glockenspiel, she'll roll it quite a bit! Everything is very high quality.
