Hohner pretty much says it all. They are the standard by which most of the others are rated..this one is no exception.I am learning harmonica but have watched my Dad play one all my life and had a couple of Marine Band's when I was kid (and harmonica's were a lot cheaper). I practice on the cheaper ones (BluesBand) and save the Special 20's for jamming. I don't think you can beat the quality of Hohner..

Hard to say what the durability is like, but it has a nice clean sound. I like it a little better than my Marine Band for sound quality.
