Makes you want to dance!,

Sheila Hamanaka's visual rendering of the classic hokey pokey song is picture-perfect. First, a young girl puts her right foot in. She is accompanied by a cowboy for the left-foot. A redhead joins in for the right arm, and a young Asian girl and a cat for the left. Before you know it, a rousing, multi-ethnic, multi-species crowd is exuberantly shaking limbs. This book -- with the accompanying lyrics boldly printed on each page -- makes me want to sing and dance and join in the fun. And really, isn't that what it's all about?
