Book Description

January 6, 2009
There is no match for the Sisterhood - the seven friends who have taken vigilante justice to a new level - not even the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Although the women foiled former FBI director Mitch Riley's plot to frame their friends Judge Nellie Easter and lawyer Lizzie Fox, now they must remain in exile or risk capture. They can't complain about their opulent digs on a remote, luxurious mountaintop, but the ladies desperately miss home.Their wish to return might come true sooner than they expect when they receive a panicked call from Supreme Court Chief Justice Pearl Barnes, who faces blackmail for her own illegal brand of justice. Now the women must not only sneak back into the United States, but also remain undetected as they investigate. But how do you make seven women disappear? With a nosy reporter on the brink of exposing them, the clock is ticking as the Sisterhood tries to create a little magic - and save the day...

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Over eight previous delectable novels, the seven members of the Sisterhood have exacted multiple pounds of flesh from men who have wronged them. Michaels's latest revenge fantasy finds them living in exile in Barcelona, where they receive word that Pearl Barnes, chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, will expose one of their contacts in the U.S. if they don't help her keep her own deep dark secret. Barnes runs an underground railroad for women and children who have been abused by their husbands and boyfriends, and her former son-in-law, Tyler Hughes, has threatened to expose her illegal activities if she doesn't throw an upcoming vote. The Sisterhood members are soon plotting to get back across the pond—no easy task, since they're wanted ladies—in order to swing into action and deliver revenge that's creatively swift and sweet, Michaels-style. From Booklist

In Michaels’ new Sisterhood novel, the ladies are, once again, sequestered at their Spanish retreat, and dissension is the rule of the day. The women are realizing just how limited they are in their movements and what it truly means to be in exile as they begin to turn on each other. In the meantime, the second string of their ever-expanding group has got a case to work on. Pearl Barnes, a Supreme Court justice, is being blackmailed by her former son-in-law, who threatens to expose her involvement in an underground railroad for abused women if she doesn’t hand over a large amount of cash and rule a certain way in an upcoming Supreme Court decision. The ladies in Spain are needed, and, thanks to their mentor Charles Martin and his connections, their return to the U.S. is handled most creatively: the ladies are to pose as a rock group, the G-String Girls. Fans of the series will be pleased with the familiar combination of fun and vengeance in Michaels’ latest hit. --Maria Hatton

Well, all the answers are here! No more wondering how the ladies make it off the mountain in Spain! Ms. Michaels does not disappoint in her newest edition to the Sisterhood series.

I found the book well written, fast paced and very fun to read. It was a nice escape from all the wrapping and shopping for holiday gifts!

Once again, I am anxious to read the next installment!

Thank you, Fern Michaels! You Rock!!!

Sincerely, a fan, Linda (L A Jewel)

5.0 out of 5 stars It Really Is Magic, January 22, 2008
Judge Easter was not expecting the surprise visit from Pearl at that time of night but that was nothing compared to what she told her.

Needless to say after not much thought Judge Easter does make the call the to Charles and it could not wait very much longer.

In the meantime the sisterhood is getting restless and although the know that if they enter the country again and get caught they could all wind up behind bars.

Ms. Michaels is absolutely at her best along with the "bag of disguises" as nobody would believe that Myra ad Annie would become part of the G-String Girls. By far this is the most fantastic of the books and dont worry the suspense of getting caught is even more noticeable in this book. It is a natural winner and best seller.
