Great Replacement for a Halogen bulb,

I bought this to replace a halogen bulb in a desk lamp. The original halogen bulb was simply too bright, and it gave off an enormous amount of heat. This LED lamp gives off nearly no heat at all. And since it uses only 1.4 watts, as apposed to the 20W the halogen used, the transformer in the base doesn't heat up either. It's not as bright as the halogen, but for a desk lamp it's perfect.
