1.0 out of 5 stars thinly veiled racism... trite and sad
I picked this book up hoping for something interesting- I found it on a list of non-PC sci-fi boooks here on Amazon. I've no love for the extremes people take the whole PC thing, to when it is harming us more than helping. But this book is sort of a new-age, sci-fi Turner Diaries. Same with his other book. Don't get me wrong, they're provacative ideas, but these books...

5.0 out of 5 stars This Novel Made Me Think, December 11, 2001

I seldom come across a novel that actually makes me think, no matter how entertaining it might otherwise be. But Mr. Kendall's "Hold Back This Day" is certainly one of the rare exceptions. As far as I know, a story about the white race teetering on the brink of extinction has never been written, at least none that I've ever heard of. Anyway, Kendall does pretty well with the concept, considering how un-PC his subject matter is. Jeff Huxton, the main character,is well-drawn and interesting, a man desparately trying to accept a world of so-called "racial harmony" when all around him he sees nothing of the kind. Almost everyone else is a hodge-podge of inter-racial breeding, a kind of tan everyman, programmed by a century of government brainwashing to deny that whites had ever done any good in the world. Jeff believes it too, up until he finds evidence that proves otherwise. From there on, he's a troubled man in a very ugly and unpleasant world, a world full of historical half-truths purposely intended to destroy any last shred of racial pride among whites.

I won't say anymore from here, other than the story is a fast read, without bogging down into all the political/ideological stuff that it easily could have. It's basically an adventure story, about one man's fight to save his son. Huxton himself makes a good, if somewhat reluctant hero. A few scenes moved me deeply, especially near the end. Not many books I've read can do that. If just for the off-beat theme, "Hold Back This Day" is definitely worth the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware! You'll be thinking about it after you read it!, May 16, 2002

This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
I'm not the kind who likes to give reviews, but after reading this book I feel like I should. As a person who keeps up on current events, I have noticed many similarities between the book and life today, even though the story takes place a little over 100 years from now. Similarities such as: forced racial integration, political correctness, movies and news stories deliberately instilling a collective guilt on white people, undefended borders in the USA and Europe, TV and Hollywood making films to induce miscegenation between whites and non whites, magnifying hate crimes committed by whites and minimizing hate crimes committed against whites in an effort to instill even more guilt. Just as in the book, there seems to be a genocidal plan against people of European decent, and what I got out of this book most was the urgency of it and the finality of extinction. As with most books it starts off slow and wordy, but very soon you will be in the thick of it and by the end you wont be able to stop reading it. It becomes very exciting near the end and I'll stop here so not to ruin it for you. But I will say that I didn't expect to read what eventually happened, and for that I thank the author, and thanks for writing this very important and entertaining book! Buy this book you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ecce Veritas!, April 22, 2002
This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
In the sci-fi publishing industry there exists a uniform understanding of how economic, ethnic and gender issues must be presented in writing. This view is monolithic and brooks no dissent. It states that the future all stories should aim for is a multicultural nirvana. In time all peoples will be equal, educated and healthy a la Star Trek. If there must be a negative role in this society it will be played by a white male (preferably Southern). Publishers are near-unanimous on this and anyone wishing to submit anything to the contrary, no matter how well crafted, need not apply.

Enter Ward Kendall. He has presented us with a long-overdue what-if scenario and directs our thoughts toward a profound problem. What if, he asks, this harmonic multicultural paradise does not come heralded by trumps of glory and songs of praise but with truncheons, tears, blood and bullets? What if the techniques used to usher in the new age are not those of Gandhi, Buddha and Christ but rather of the SS and the NKVD? Kendall has painted a world suffering under stringent uniformity and failed tyrannical policies; a world, sadly, not too far fetched nor too unbelievable.

If we want our future to be one of freedom and happiness then we best realize that there are no views, no positions, no mores so holy and venerable that they should not, from time to time, be held up to deep questioning and review. If we wish to hold back the day envisioned and illuminated by the author then we can start by slaughtering a few gluttonous sacred cows that've grown too big for the corral.

Ward Kendall provides us with more than a fast-paced, well-written action adventure (though it is that). He has delivered a provocative work--more thinker than thriller--which will linger in your thoughts long after the back cover has been closed.

`Hold Back This Day'
a book by
Ward Kendall

Reviewed by
Ellison J. Peterson

I am not really one for reading, let alone reviewing, futuristic fantasy novels. After I was informed of this particular novel's subject matter, white racial extinction set in the future, and after hearing such rave reviews about it, I just had to compel myself and give it a go. I would say regretfully that we are in too short a supply of novels that cover this particular topic.

I have never reviewed a work of fiction so this is also a first for me. Before I draw myself into the intricacies of reviewing this book for you I will state here at the outset that I urge you strongly to get this fantastic gem of a novel. I seriously doubt that you will be disappointed regardless of your views on futuristic sci-fi based fantasy narrative literature. I say fantasy, being the genre it is set in, and not the subject matter, which is a stark reality for us all and one that is drawing closer and closer by the day.

`Hold Back This Day' by Ward Kendall is, in short, a book about the last White people left on earth. A scenario that is becoming - more and more - a very real actuality and realisation for the indigenous populations of the Western world. It is a sci-fi novel with a ground breaking plot never attempted before, as far as I am aware by the futuristic story writing establishment. It has a monumental twist and one that steps right over the boundaries of what is deemed acceptable. For this reason it is heralded as a literal landmark of fiction from a White persons perspective who is proud of his people.

Sadly, for this reason in today's society justice will not be seen as it is unlikely that the making of a cinematic version will be undertaken. Yet, the book itself will keep you hanging onto the edge of your seat with sheer intensity to find out the outcome on every next page. I think the term, a `real page turner' is fitting and is far from just a statement paid to be put onto a book cover by it's financers.

On opening the front page we are introduced to a world set in the days, 85 years after the Unification of the globe by World Gov, the now ruling dictatorial government elite. It is a world where, in the interests of racial harmony and cultural diversity, a global agenda has been forcefully pushed through to homogenise the worlds varied and diverse populations. This has been achieved by a systematic miscegenation programme to wipe out any racial and cultural differences in order that the varied populations of the earth can live in complete accord with each other without the fear of racial discrimination.

Sound familiar?

It is a world where the ever dwindling skintone types of 1-2 (White) and the skintone types of 8-9 (Black, etc), amongst the worlds 19 billion, have been "forcefully united under one government, one religion and one race" to produce the accepted norm and World Gov's `racial ideal', skintone 5's, which are a blend of all races to produce a murky medium coloured brown of a rootless population.

Again, sound familiar?

Seriously though, this is a futuristic fictional novel and not the unwritten but widely known manifesto of Labour's New World Order global master plan.

The main character of the novel is Jeff Huxton, a thoroughly indoctrinated World Gov Skoolplex employee recently reassigned to New Therevada. Making his new life in Africa Zone 12 as a newly appointed Skoolplex Administrator, for his role in the `Harmony Project' (the final stage of child indoctrination under World Gov's new history) along with his wife Li Ming and two children; son Adam from his original marriage to his White first wife (now outlawed since her death) and daughter Puja from his current marriage to Li Ming.

Jeff's life as a lemming-like World Gov employee causes him to propagate the now enforced lie of racial equality, re-written world history, ala 1984, to demonise the White Race and up the ant of the non-White racial hordes. His life as a father causes him to have hidden inner feelings towards his son and his future as someone that is now regarded as a freak of nature. This tangled life means Jeff must look long, hard and deep into his very heart and soul to decide which road to travel.

Along this difficult road that Jeff is living he meets the mysterious Karl Ramstrom, leader of a shadowy organisation and the man that has seemingly taken Adam's mind hook line and sinker for his own, so called, `evil' ends. A mysterious figure that draws you into the novel like a character I have never come across in any other novel.

And Ahmed Yehudit, a truly disturbingly real and dark character will pump blood through your veins faster than ever before in sheer shock, anger and realisation that there are people like him ruling our country today.

The characters that Ward Kendall invites us to walk amongst in this novel are explicit in the way they incorporate nearly all of the opinions in a society that you can encounter. From this angle you can view the story like you are actually in it and as any reader of fiction will tell you, they are a fundamental part of any literate that needs to be right on the ball to keep your attention. And on that note Ward Kendall strikes yet another triumph. A triumph that will keep you wanting to turn every page but will at the same time be so disturbing that you will not want to see what the next page reveals.

Regardless of any faults that you may think this novel has, it is a thoroughly absorbing nightmare of a novel. Written in a vibrant and entertaining manner with a flare for realism rather than sensationalism, it is truly a triumph of tragedy. It is one which can only be achieved by the hard work and dedication of someone whom has a clear understanding and insight into the rapidly changing world around them, and the future which that holds. It is a novel of which you will be gripped from the very start to the bitter and ultimately phenomenal twist ridden ending. It is a true masterpiece in its ever increasing nightmarish normality that will open your eyes to the reality surrounding you and the catastrophic fate and bleak future that is awaiting our people and nation if we don't do something now. It opens your eyes wide and clear like the indoctrination contraption that opens the eyes of the delinquent in A Clockwork Orange. Simply put, it is a superb read and one not to be missed.

This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
Hold Back This Day is suprisingly well written science fiction -- the characters actually act how real people in such a situation would act. This is unlike the typical science fiction story where the characters are often flat and/or unbelievable. Ward Kendall has a good insight into human nature, and it is a welcome change.

He describes a future world where the politically correct ideas of today have reached their logical conclusion. He pulls no punches as he speaks out against the sacred cows of the liberal left - economic equality, racial equality, and social equality. Rarely do I find a book which makes me think like this one did, and a week later I am still thinking about it. You will definitely look at the world differently after reading this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Interesting., June 13, 2004
This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
The only thing I didn't like about it was that it ended too soon. Its too short. I wanted to learn more about what happened Karl and his daughter Emerald. About the society Avalon created....ARGH! I wish there were more details because this book could have easily been twice the length....Reminded me of a cross between the "Deathstalker" series by Simon R. Green with some George Orwell "1984". Very good read, though!

I liked the timely quotes fronting each chapter as well.

Looking forward to a follow up book. Keep up the good work!

5.0 out of 5 stars This novel deserves to reach the big screen, October 5, 2011
This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
Kendall can be understood within the movement of white nationalism: the dream to create a sanctuary to avoid race extinction. Like the whites living in Mars in Hold Back This Day, in real life white nationalists only have one agenda item: whites living normally among whites in a white country under white control. In times of massive immigration into the West, if the white people can't create an ethno-state... just read this book and see what will happen in the 22nd century. This novel is about the coming extinction of the white race, a text that could easily be used as a draft for the most fascinating movie script of the 21st century.

Hold Back This Day really deserves to reach the big screen.

Old Stormfront review:

Synopsis

Hold Back This Day examines the life of the protagonist, Jeff Huxton, a civil servant who functions as principal of a government school in what was formerly South Africa (the sovereign nations of the planet have ceased to exist as such in Kendall's 22nd century).

In a global society of multi-hued brown, Huxton is an anomaly, a man of "sandy-gray hair," "blue eyes and pale complexion." Race or lack thereof, is not the only uniformity on this Earth of 19 billion humans. The planet itself is ruled from Beijing by one hedonistic, cosmopolitan bureaucracy. This is "World Gov," the omnipresent and seemingly omnipotent ruler which is so reminiscent of "Oceania" and "Big Brother" in George Orwell's 1984.

At this time, the Whites of Earth have been all but obliterated--primarily through government-mandated miscegenation but also as a result of mass executions following the Unification, a cataclysmic moment when the non-whites of the world were let loose to ravage and annihilate their technologically and intellectually superior brethren of European descent.

The result: Slavery in the name of freedom, monoculture in the name of diversity, perpetual famine in a gluttonous world, and technological stagnation--even regression--as a consequence of the unavoidable dumbing-down of global intellect.

To whom are the people slaves? To World Gov, of course! Despite their lofty rhetoric concerning "brotherhood" and "equality," the leaders of the world actually demand a state of perpetual subservience from the global populace. They constitute an elite, and they stop at nothing to protect their status atop the swarm of starving mongrels.

Jeff Huxton, "skoolplex administrator," has lived his entire life in this chaos. In his youth, he learned of the fallibility of the government. Nevertheless, any flickering doubts concerning World Gov's righteousness are of no consequence: His indoctrination has been complete. To him, everything is justified in the pursuit of "cultural diversity."

Huxton is reviled by his raceless contemporaries, and he likely would die as he lives but for one person, his son Adam. Like his father, Adam is of pure blood--wholly of European descent. He is ostracized at school, and he can find no satisfaction at home. Gradually, Adam finds the sense of belonging for which he yearns, but it places him and his father in extraordinary danger. Adam has found his own kind, not lost to the sands of time, but alive--on Mars.

(C.T.'s interpolated note: The climax at Mars is so exciting that I am tempted to make a film career only to take it to the silver screen. Sorry, I won't add a spoiler here discussing the climax --just read it!)

What is that message?

The White Race is on a collision course with disaster. Regardless of the causes, action must be taken now or all may be lost. Only a sci-fi plot twist saves Whites in Kendall's book. The reader should not expect such Providence in reality.

This book challenges the mindless treason of egalitarianism, which is worshipped (and increasingly demanded by statute) in every college, government institution, and most churches in the United States. Is it any wonder Kendall's book wasn't published by the masters of the media, who are directly responsible for the distribution of such filth?

Hold Back This Day is required reading for those who wish to peer into the foreseeable future. It comes in under the radar screen of political correctness, and may be a dangerous book to those who seek to establish the tyranny portrayed between its covers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tommorows Future Is Happening Now!, June 8, 2011

This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
Ward Kendall has written a clarion call for White Americans to get up off their collective asses, and take steps to insure the continuation of their own geno-type. Although the story line takes place approximately 100 years in the future, the incidents portrayed could easily be taken from current events. I believe this book to be essential reading to all White Folk, and forces Whites to ask a simple question; How does Multi-Culuralism benefit me as a White person? The short answer is, it doesn't. Western Civilization has been under serious attack for over 100 years now, from within and from without. Ward Kendall's characters are believable, honest and will keep you guessing, and more importantly, Thinking. This is not a racist book, but rather an eye opening look at Truth, and what is an ongoing Political Plan for the Extermination of a people. If you want to live Free, read this book. If you would like your grand children to look like you, and carry on your beliefs and philosophies, then read this book. Thank you for writing this book Ward Kendall. Charles Keagle.

5.0 out of 5 stars A devasting, wonderful book. YOU need to read this - now., December 18, 2002

This review is from: Hold Back This Day (Paperback)
Insanity.

Insanity exists when there is an inability to differentiate between that which is beneficial to survival, and that which is detrimental.

Thus an insane man may jump from a tall building, convinced that he can fly. But believing a thing to be real doesn't make it so. The realities of the physical universe must apply, and so the man plunges to his death.

Decadence.

Decadence is a form of collective insanity. Thus a society or race passing through a cycle of decadence will adopt customs, values, taboos and laws that they believe to be beneficial to their survival. But these values will in reality contain the seeds of their own destruction.

This book deals with societal and racial insanity. It shows us the world that must result if todays values of decadence continue to be applied. This means the glory of an equality-obsessed state, a state that controls the world in the internationalists dream of one world government. The nature of Man dictates that if such an eventuality comes to pass the results are precisely predictable totalitarianism, mass indoctrination and enforced racial extinction. Extinction not just for the white race, but for every race, everywhere. All to gain the prize of a single homogenised mass of humanity. This is the dream of the internationalist integrationists of today, obsessed with their unquestioning beliefs and unable to conceive of the terrifying result of their dreams made real.

This book shows the result.

But this novel isnt about despair it is about hope, and the promise of the future. The reader isnt left depressed. He is left uplifted in spirit, happy and joyous at the conclusion. Heed the warning that is contained in this novel. Feel the burning loss of all that you hold dear. But also experience the excitement of a great adventure. You won't be able to put this book down. You will cheer on the main character, a good man struggling to find the path of virtue and straining to win the ultimate prize. And you will think about the story and the warning it contains long after the book is read.

You receive your education in liberal doctrine every day through the mass media. Why not take a look at the results that await your children from the successful application of liberal policies? Just one novel will provide more enlightenment than years of watching and reading approved media products.

And if you are a politically correct liberal? Consider this novel a challenge. Exercise an open mind, and expose yourself to a different world view. Look into the future that you believe to be so desirable, and wonder. You really will want to hold back this day.

I urge anyone reading these comments - whites and non-whites, lovers of diversity and lovers of their own peoples customs, liberals and non-liberals - to read this book. All that you are and all that you dream no matter how diverse your views will be destroyed by the evils of applied liberal doctrine.

Mankind has a golden future. Dont let it end in darkness and despair. Read this book and you will know how important it is to cast your vote for the right candidate, the right party and to spread the word of truth amongst everyone in your life.

Its not too late to save us all from a terrible fate.

You need to read this book!
