Having spent my formative years on a steady diet of Victoria Holt, I don’t think there’s anything I enjoy more than a good old-fashioned beautiful girl in trouble handsome man to the rescue scenario when it comes to relaxing entertainment. Allene Frances lives and writes in Santa Rosa, California. She has worked with the hearing impaired, been a CEO, a District Manager of Sales for a large cosmetics company, and an Avon lady. Her work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, and various other publications. Her first loves are writing, animals, Middle Eastern & Country Western dance, reading, golf, walking, miscellaneous crafts, food and real life romances. And that's just for starters.

If you're looking for a completely engrossing "curl up and read on a cool fall day, kind of book, HOLD BACK TIME is for you. I was totally absorbed with the story because it has all the qualities that I look for in a story...adventure, mystery, and romance. Definitely a real page-turner to the end. I would recommend this book and will be watching for Allene Frances' next novel.

This book reminded me of the old Victoria Holt, Phyliss Whitney books. Lots of foggy coast intrigue, it even had an old diary that revealed long hidden secrets. I hated for it to end.

Ridiculous, unbelievable drivel. I was unable to finish this book. The writing it embarrassingly poor and the story-line is utterly ridiculous. Anti-aging gurus? Near-death experiences and hey let's toss in a puppy to spice things up. A great book to toss into the fire on a cold winters night.
