Take Jon Davis' growl and combine it with Videodrone's music,

....And that is exactly what you would get.Although more abrasive than both bands, you can still get the idea of what they are like. Definetly pissed about something (who isn't?) Everyone who wrote reviews for this cd are correct : this is a GREAT cd to listen to when you are mega pissed.

Get the feeling they're a little angry?,

I sure do. This may well be the angriest album in creation (of course, I have yet to hear the new one). Sounding something like a high-speed collision between NIN and Rollins, Drown growl, scream and vent so adeptly that it's hard not to be drawn in. My girlfriend hates this album, and I can imagine why -- I'd hate to be the woman who inspired the acid-etched bitterness and hatred portrayed on "Beautiful" and "What It Is To Burn." As I'm not, I have to say that this album is a blast to listen to - especially when you're in a bad mood and there's nobody around to tell you to turn down the volume. A true classic of the genre (whatever genre that may be) and right up there with Rollins' END OF SILENCE and Killing Joke's DIRT, EXTREMITIES AND VARIOUS REPRESSED EMOTIONS on the great big list of great big angry music.

A fairly unique melding of metal and industrial.,

The debut from Los Angeles' Drown features melodic compositions peppered with plenty of angst and longing. The electronics are evenly mixed with the guitars and Lauren Boquette's vocals don't fall into the unpleasant growl characterizing much of the genre these days. If you like this, check out Fear Factory's "Demanufacture" or Drown's work with Argyle Park, Society Burning or Skinny Puppy.

Drown-Hold onto the hollow was a one-hit wonder for the band as their career in the music industry was short lived. This album is one of those that you always take out of your CD collection and listen to constantly!Their sound was ahead of their time and every song on here is pretty good-full of aggressive, hated filled lyrics, heavyweight guitar work blended with industrial beats.A must add to your metal collection:)

"Hold onto the Hollow" is DROWN's first release. I became a fan after hearing "Product of a Two-Faced World" which was released in 1998 and worked my way backwards to Hollow. "Product.." loses some of the electronics, and seems more hardcore, while "Hollow.." seems more raw and angry. DROWN sucked me up into the world of 1605, which started as a simple "rule" I guess you could say, on living life...DROWN has since broken up, but check out other projects by frontman LAUREN, such as FAMOUS, which opened on the Tattoo the Earth tour 2000, and his newest band SiX and their EP, "When the Beauty's Gone.."

This is hands down the greatest CD I have had in better than 15 years. Each and every song fits me like a glove. If you like music that shows just how pissed a man can be at a woman when she cheats on him then this is the one you can not pass up. The music is very heavy and has a touch of techno mixed with some industrial, on the other hand the second cd was just as heavy but without all the techno and they even had Henry Rollins on one of the tracks. Of course they are no longer around but the singer Lauren Boquette has a new band called Lords of Ruin (they changed the name from six) The CD's with six (now called Lords of Ruin)are not as angry but still just as good.I recomend both CD's from drown as well as Lords of Ruin.

This band came out during the Nine inch nails industrial rush. It has a very dark overtone and really produces some great memorable tracks. This disc never seemed to get any airplay and the band seemed left to be forgotten. I originally had found this disc in the 1.00 promo bin at some used cd store. I have had it since and over played it to no end. What we get here is a a nine disc with the rawness of broken and the darkness not seen in many of the american breed industrial bands. This is for fans of Manson, rammstein, NIN, skinny puppy, and A dark Halo.
Enjoy

Industrial Metal at its best,

When i first got this cd i loved it probablly because i was going through with some stuff. Anyways this cd is dark, Twisted, & Angry.. but if u like bands like Korn, Spineshank, Slipknot, or Nine Inch Nails then you might like this cd. While you may find this cd dark & angry thats how most aggressive bands are nowadays.. when this cd first came out i think people werent ready for it yet because it plays along the lines of Slipknot & NIN.. Slipknot is one of those bands that sounds like they dont like anyone or anything, but Drown is more or less between Slipknot & NIN.. it has the elements of NIN with the angry side of Slipknot. Whether or not the lyrics have any meaning for you, this cd packs alot more then just the lyrics. Just the right tune of the guitar, heavy & low enough to produce alot of bass. Not only that the music adds enough techno/electronica to make it sound much heavier. I just hope and pray that 4 people come up with this idea for a great band. Other simaliar bands that i think kept that going are, Fear Factory, Spineshank, Dry Kill Logic (1st album), Professional Murder Music, Skinlab, Chimaira (1st album) ill Nino, Reveille as well as some of your fav bands that might continue this level of Metal.. some of them are heavier then others but just to let u know that this band was one of the best.
