5.0 out of 5 stars Another Home Run for Ms. Spears January 18, 2011
As other drama-divas fade away into nothingness (Paris, Lindsay) it is only Britney Spears that seems to have truly conquered whatever battles she was going through back in '07. We were all wowed by Womanizer, her alleged "comeback" single, and stayed on to experience the Circus, but there was still the all right/decent videos and so-so dance moves that made us wonder if we'd ever see the legendary Britney Spears rightfully regain her throne. That was, hopefully, until now.

As for dancing, I'll have to wait to see the video for this new smash, but music-wise Hold It Against Me is a comeback revised. Admittedly there are traces of auto-tune, but for the most part this is a clear and healthy vocalized, radio-friendly, club-friendly, sing-a-long-friendly sensation that has already broken airplay records and is on schedule to debut at #1. It's catchy, it's infectious, but most importantly it shows Britney Spears as an Artist. She may not write the songs, and God knows she doesn't produce them, but her vocal talents have never been more apparent. The way she says "Hazaaay" alone is worth a record deal and the whole chorus moans professional.

It may be too early to tell what fruit will become of this upcoming album in March, but if the rumors are true that Brit has been ferociously dancing for the video and already has plans for upcoming singles, this seems to be the era fans have waited for since the end of In The Zone. Already Spears has been more personally involved than in her last two albums by tweeting thanks to fans and offering candid rebuttals to tabloids for printing lies. I know it's only January, but my expectation is that Hold it Against Me and Britney's new album will be on many favorite lists come the end of the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Britney Spears Queen of Song Reborn May 26, 2011
"Hold It Against Me" is a tempting lead-in to love song with sexy, double-meaning lyrics. Highlighting her 2011 "Femme Fatal" album, this track is Britney's fourth US number one single. It is significant not only as a terrific song, but represents a high point in her comeback from a career low point that could have done in many of her less courageous competitors.
