Who knew England still had it going on?,

This review is from: Hold Me Down (Audio CD)
I usually only take the time to sit and write a review of a band's work if it's blow your head off unbearable or s&*t in your pants amazing. Luckily for me and my ears, this band just so happened to be the latter of the two. Virgin Records most definitely hit a homerun with signing these young talented lads to their family. With all of the artists and "artists" trying to get their music exposed, it's easy for truly talented individuals to be lost in the static and shuffle. Thankfully this band made it through to the finish line so their wonderful music could be heard by the masses. From start to finish this CD is incredible. Very few bands these days make CD's that you can just sit and listen to the whole way through without thumbing through tracks to find another good beat that catches your ear. The opening track, has just the right amount of "umph" to get the CD going, and from there the listener gets nothing short of an amazing stimulus overload with great track highlights (and personal favorites of mine), such as "Playing the Blame Game", "Take Your Breath Away", "There's No Such Thing As Accidental Infidelity" and "Trophy Eyes". With the amount of unique style these boys possess with their certain something, I'm a bit surprised that Tooth & Nail didn't manage to get their hands on them first. Either way, anyone who listens to this CD that has any sort of appreciation for the "Rock" genre and all it's subgenres should be able to fondly appreciate what this band has to offer. I really hope to see these guys play live someday soon too, because given the amount of power this CD has, it's no doubt they are equally amazing and more than able to deliver on a live stage.
Cheers boys!

The first time I heard of them was when I saw them at Warped Tour 2009. They didn't have the biggest crowd but their performance was great. I immediately checked them out and have loved them ever since! They have such amazing music, falling into what I think is a hard pop/punk or alternative category. I saw them again at the 2010 Warped Tour this year and couldn't help but to rock out...my point is that you should definitely buy this album and will not be disappointed!

I love You Me At Six. I just purchased their latest album, "Hold Me Down," and overall I like it. It's not as good as "Take Off Your Colours," then again there's about half as many songs on this one too. But the songs on this one are pretty catchy. I'm not a big fan of the slower ones, but this album's pretty good.

SO I have no idea how I got this CD (I get 2-3 a week), but I was impressed. If you like the older fall out boy lyrics then this is the CD for you. Pretty much a women hating teenage lament, with hard emotion.
Overall if you could roll up Fall Out Boy, Sugarcult and Yellowcard all into one group this would be it. I really like the cd and recommend it to anyone interested in this genre. This is one of my shortest and least in depth reviews, but I'm sure there will be a die hard YM@6 reviewer soon. |
