Stay away from this one!, June 27, 2000
This review is from: Hold Me Now (Audio CD)
This has got to be the lowest any record company has ever gone to make a buck. As a Thompson Twins fan that I am, when I heard this came out, I instantly ordered it. When it arrived, I was thrilled to read on the cover: INCLUDING THE HITS, HOLD ME NOW, LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME, LOVE ON YOUR SIDE, LOVE ON YOUR BACK, AND MORE! Yes, Love on Your Back! Could it be a new song? A previously unreleased B side? I flipped the cd over and was even more surprised when I read the full contents of it and did not recognize another song tittle: LET LOVING START. I felt like I was holding a prize posession! I hurried to put it in and press play. To my endless disapointment, Let Loving Start is Hold Me Now in slow rotation. Impossible to listen to from start to end. I fast forwarded it to see if it could be true and it was. I then discovered that Love on Your Back is a remixed instrumental version of Love on Your Side equally impossible to listen to. What a SCAM! Being the die hard fan that I am, the only good thing I found was the track Beach Culture. A hard to find instrumental track from the TT early days. The other seven songs are the same ones in every other TT best hits compillation. Tom Bailey would sew if he could!

Utter waste of money, October 14, 2009
This review is from: Hold Me Now (Audio CD)
I bought this CD at a pawn shop and felt completely ripped off. Sure it has a couple of the hits, but the remixes (which everyone else who reviews this mentions) are utter crap. If I had paid full price for this, I would have been mad enough to strangle the ass-clown who decided that putting this CD out was a good idea. As it was, I still felt that the $4.00 I spent on this would have been put to better use if I used the individual bills as toilet paper. Avoid this CD like the plague. In fact, the only reason you should even accept a copy of this being given to you is if the entire Swedish Bikini Team offers to have sex with you while this CD is playing.

hidden treasures, September 13, 2004
B-sides often hold hidden treasures. This is the case with this, which has a few b-sides never released on cd. Let Loving Start is a gorgeous dub/ instumental version of their breakthrough US hit Hold Me Now. Love on Your Back is the dub version of Love on Your Side, also here on cd for the first time. My favourite track is Beach Culture, a very bouncy early 80's slice of synth heaven, which was on the b-side of Lies, one of their early club hits. The remainder can be found pretty easily anywhere else, but if you don't have any TT best ofs, this might be a place for you to start. The first place to start, actually , is admitting you are a fan, which these days is slightly less fashionable.
