If it's possible to wear out a CD, this will be the one!

By the way, Gloria has a brilliant voice, and I can hear nearly every word she sings even without the lyrics.
Chen Yee
I highly recommend this CD, especially if you like oldies, because she does these songs justice.

I purchased this CD on a whim, and what a wonderful surprise! I knew anything from Gloria would be good, but I cannot even decide on a favorite song here! So many times, covered songs are so-so, not here, though. Gloria's beautiful range and wonderful accent will steal your heart. If it's possible to wear out a CD, this will be the one!

Gloria has done an excellent job of covering these classic songs. From ballads to disco the whole album is great and fun to listen to. The old songs get a new freshness. The booklet has all the lyrics and each song has a small note above it by Gloria, telling an anecdote or story about that particular song, of how she came to record it, or of a special memory it holds for her. A bit of a change from her latin/dance albums, but a special treat for her fans. If you are a fan of Gloria, or of these songs, you will enjoy this album.

Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me is an excellent collection of classic hit songs. Gloria's voice is perfect on this album! My favorite song: It's Too Late. And God, she looked great in the music video for that song!

I've always been quite a fan of Mrs. Estefan's rich voice & solid material ever since I was a kid. Later, when I started purchasing albums of hers I reached for this one in patricular because I loved her versions of "Turn the Beat Around" (quite superior to the original I feel) & "Everlasting Love".

Several years later this album stands not only as one of my all-time favorite cover albums, but one of my favorite Gloria Estefan albums.

The music here is so romantic & just refreshing. Gloria seems at home in grandiose string sections, pumping synth-laden dance numbers, & quiet, almost hushed arrangements ("Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying" comes to mind) where the instrument most prominent is Gloria's textured voice.

You also can tell that Gloria chose these songs from her heart because she gives them a respectful reading, but makes these songs her own. This is no more apparent than on the two singles from this set: the late Vicki Sue Robinson's "Turn the Beat Around" & Carl Carlton's "Everlasting Love". Gloria's dance re-working of these was sure to delight her longtime fans that love her dancefloor material & hinted at what she had in mind for her 1998 effort, "Gloria!". These songs fit Gloria well, her voice is not only confident, but musically she gives them both a facelift that makes them current, but not so much so that it would turn off the original fans who loved these songs.

Other higlights include the lovelorn epic "Love On A Two Way Street", the sweeping ballroom anthem of "Cherchez La Femme" which not only is beautiful in it's musical textures, but just seems to give Gloria a girlish quality when she sings it, & a personal favorite "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me"...which I've always enjoyed.

Basically, instead of continually gushing over this, I highly recommend this album for those looking for a romantic evening with great music, or just anyone who appreciates good music.

Estefan's 1994 release is a collection of songs of which she has an unending fondness. They run the spectrum of pop classics to disco ditties. Like a good segment of her fan base, Gloria is a "baby boomer" and these songs are perfect reminiscences of earlier musical times.

My favorites are her covers of "Everlasting Love," "You've Made Me So Very Happy," "Turn the Beat Around," "Love on a Two-Way Street" and the Copacabana-sounding "Cherchez La Femme".

On the disc's liner notes, each song is preceded by Estefan's commentary on the respective song's influence on her. Not only does the singer love the songs but she has an unabiding affection for the persons that originally performed them.

And her admiration is shown in her delivery and the buyer can experience equally shared enjoyment.

My two favorite songs on this CD are "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" and "Turn The Beat Around." The other tracks are wonderful too. When I got this CD as a present, I didn't realize the songs were covers of 50's, 60's, and 70's hits, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found out. With this CD, Gloria pays tribute to the singers and groups she has admired through the years.
Before each song she includes a little background story on what it means to her, and why she included it. "Everlasting Love" and "Turn The Beat Around" are the spiciest covers, both have a techno feel. She stays pretty true to the originals with the rest. I highly recommend this CD, especially if you like oldies, because she does these songs justice. I love it!

This album by Gloria was excellently done! She and all her co-workers were able to take songs from past decades and remake them with a 90's twist. Gloria's voice is beautiful in this album. The percussion was blended in quite nicely with the orchestration. Whenever I listen to this album, I hear a different sound or instument in the background. IT'S GREAT!!!

After the great "Mi Tierra", Gloria Estefan presented us her follow up english record after "Coming Out Of The Dark", after 3 years, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" is the less latin flavor record ever made by Gloria. Although it included the superb version of the disco classic "Turn The Beat Around", one of the last hit singles of Gloria in the charts, certified gold by the RIAA and reaching the #13 position in a alternative rock influence charts of those years. Somehow the intention of Gloria to make an excellent cover album, didn't click for much of her fan base, but it wasn't a bad concept after all, you can go along with the whole album with amazing Gloria versions of "You've Made Me So Very Happy", "Goodnight My Love", and the Title cut. "Everlasting Love" the second single is a great danceable joint, "It's Too Late" it was crazy to try to make a better version of this Carole King gem, but it just work out fine, after all Gloria's 1994 record didn't failed to be a great produced record, but it just didn't click with the mainstream radio and some original dance fans.
