this is as good as it gets for hardcore chicago blues.
smith sounds like a cross between magic slim and otis rush.
his vocal are hard edged raw and pure chicago.
his playing is somewhat like magic slim and all and all
i would rate him as about equal to magic.
5 stars must buy cd.

Great Blues, Great Artist, January 11, 2009

I wasn't familiar with Byther Smith when I heard "Hold That Train Conductor" on XM radio. It led to searching for and buying this CD, and I'm glad I did! Not a bad song on it! If you like blues and GREAT guitar you won't be dissappointed! His vocals share the same "bite" as his guitar! Buy this one!!! I'm about to wear my copy out!!!
