Thank you Edsel for bringing together what is, as far as I know, EVERY mix of all the SAW/Rick Astley productions on the reissues of his first two albums, including classic non-album tracks like "My Arms Keep Missing You." It's great to see that several labels are seriously digging into the SAW archives and releasing many of these 12 mixes on CD for the first time ever--but Edsel has gone above and beyond, leaving no stone unturned, where as many of the other recent SAW releases have not been as thorough. This collection contains some of Ricks greatest hits, it also includes bonus tracks, rare extended mixes and instrumentals. Non-album B side songs and remixes never released to album can only be found on this 2 CD edition. Digitally remasterd and has AWESOME sound that should not be missed!!! Don't forget to check out Tom Parkers booklet that features full annotation as well as the single sleeves photos!! Rick and Edsel Records have put together a fantastic collection of old and new memories not to be missed! This 2 CD set well is worth the import price and should be in your collection!!!

Rick Astley's "Hold Me in Your Arms" may not be a classic '80s album like Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or Prince and the Revolution's "Purple Rain," but you may think it is when you see Edsel's elaborate and comprehensive 2-CD reissue of Astley's 1988 follow-up to 1987's successful "Whenever You Need Somebody." This commemorative edition features a truckload of B-sides and remixes, making this a must-have for fans of the Stock-Aitken-Waterman sound, diehard Rick Astley fans and fans of '80s music in general. This is an excellent reissue. If you don't like the SAW cookie-cutter sound, this may not be for you - although Astley's soulful voice was a refreshing change from the generic sounding voices that were often featured on SAW productions. At two-and-a-half hours, this may be a bit much for the casual fan, but I love both Astley and the SAW sound, so I never got tired of it.

"She Wants to Dance With Me" (not produced by SAW, but retains that SAW sound), "Giving Up on Love," "My Arms Keep Missing You" and the title track are fun songs, and while they definitely a late-'80s sound, you can't help but sing along.
