Wonderful, inspirational story with an unforgetable hero.,

My sixth grade teacher read this book to our whole class in 1986. I loved the book then for the main reason that Holdfast was such a noble, faithful friend. It is a great story that can teach anyone about some of humanity's most respectable qualities, through the love of an amazing dog. I still love Irish Wolfhounds!!!

I read this book when I was 10. That was 24 years ago and I still remember the love for dogs that it inspired in me. I still want an Irish Wolfhound.
