More than your typical novel,

This is an amazing follow up to Ms. Savoy's Spellbound. The first thing I love about this book is how each character holds their own without depending heavily on the previous book. This is a romance thriller/suspense. The wonderful part is that the book has mysteries that not only include the lead characters (Adam and Sam), but the secondary characters as well. This is a great book that you will not want to put down.

Hollywood actor and playboy Billy Prescott was killed in an auto accident, actress Samantha (Sam) Hathaway who was also in the car was spared because she was thrown out on impact of the collision. Sam's childhood friend filmmaker Jarad Naughton is not so sure it was an accident and is concerned about his friend's safety. Jarad is aware that Billy's brother is NYC detective Adam Wexler and hires him to play bodyguard to the actress under the guise of giving her guidance for her next role as a police woman. Adam's foray into the glitzy Hollywood scene leads him to starlets, players, drugs and an uncooperative actress. Samantha is aware and angry that Jarad has sent someone to watch over her and proves it at every turn. Adam finds himself attracted to beautiful and feisty Sam, to Sam's dismay she feels the same. Adam has not revealed his true identity to Sam but soon finds out that she has two dislikes, liars and Billy's family, especially the police officer brother whom Billy worshipped and adored but never saw. Although Adam took the job to find out the truth about his brother's accident, it becomes clear that Sam is in real danger and he will do whatever is necessary to save her. Then he must find a way to tell her the truth about himself without losing her forever. There are no secondary characters in 'Holding Our For A Hero', each one is critical and necessary to complete this complex love story. Deirdre Savoy has written a 5 star novel full of intrigue, suspense and Hollywood magic. Vannie(~.~)

Hold On - True Love Is Coming!,

Deirdre Savoy has definitely done it again!! "Holding Out for a Hero" is Samantha Hathaway's story. Samantha is the friend of Ariel from Ms. Savoy's book "Spellbound." Sam is attractive and an accomplished movie star. She has had love in her life, but nothing to compare with the sexy, charming Adam Wexler, who is surely Sam's hero. Drastic events have taken place in Sam's life, including the death of a close friend, who was also Sam's ex-fiance'. Ironically, Billy Prescott, was not only Sam's ex-fiance', but unknowingly to Sam, Billy was also Adam's half-brother. It was after Billy's death that Sam and Adam come together and their lives are never the same. Sparks fly, but they are not at first from flames of love. However, the flames are not allowed to smother and they burst into red hot fire. Sam and Adam realize that indeed their attraction is from their love for each other. Adam has made a decision to do all he can to protect Sam, even if it is with his life. In every sense, Adam is a hero, not only because he is a detective and has been in positions in the past where he had to be a hero, but because he has come to be Sam's special hero and love of her life. Adam is what Samantha has been waiting for and holding out for in her life -- her one true love and hero. Very good book. Thanks again, Ms. Savoy.

Suspenseful and sexy....,
This review is from: Holding Out for a Hero (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
"Holding Out for a Hero" varied from Deirdre Savoy's usual stories, only because it had all the elements of a suspenseful who-done-it. However, all the elements that make her an extraordinary writer were still there -- romance, passion and love.Samantha (Sam) Hathaway is a down to earth and not your run-of the-mill Hollywood movie star. Her movie director, best friend Jarad Naughton (Spellbound) has given her a dream come true by casting her in a new movie. However, an accident leaves her injured and someone very close to her dead. Enter, Adam Wexler, a tough New York cop with a chip on his shoulder. Jarad hires him to teach Sam the ropes for her upcoming movie and also to keep an eye on her. Adam accepts only because he has a little investigating of his own to do. This book was excellent! I enjoyed the plot, the suspense and of course, the love scenes. The passion that exudes from Sam and Adam is breathtaking and heart pounding. The secondary characters are also extremely intriguing and interesting. Great, great book!

This was the sequel to "Spellbound" and it was just as good, if not better. The way Samantha and Adam's love bloomed was great. This book had a hint of mystery to it, with a few surprises, that kept you wondering, "who did it?". It was very well written, and had a very realistic plot. I really enjoyed the book and i'm sure you will to.
