After checking out so many portable clock details and reading all the reviews, it sounded like this was the clock that was the easiest to read at night, the display is lit up with a nice blue light, etc. I was simply trying to find a battery operated small clock that is always lit so you can always read the clock. I have 2 small clocks that plug in and do just that, so I now need one that has no AC plug, just runs on batteries. The reviews for this one sounded like it is always easy to read, the blue light looks great on the display, BUT, the display in the picture is only a sticker on the top that shows the nice blue light. The clock is always dark unless you press the snooze/light button! There is no way to keep the backlight on all the time as the picture implies. So, this clock is not what it looks like, it is hard to read the display in the evening unless you press the button to get it to light up.

I keep this clock in my bed.. yes in my bed. Seems everytime I went to see what time it was my cat was constantly blocking the bedside clock. So I got this to keep nearby.
I like the nice bright blue display. Doesn't burn your eyes in the middle of the night when you go to see what time it is. Also, the numbers are real big for us ol' folks that appreciate it.

This clock sits on my night stand and has traveled with me in rough conditons. In the ten years that I've had it, I've only changed the batteries once and it has never failed. It's design is straight forward and sensible. Sometimes when I've been traveling I wished I could fold it flat, but it's been on backpacking trips and thrown around as airport luggage and has never suffered damage.

Perfect size for next to the bed. Big ol' button for illuminating the time (this beats constantly glowing clocks for me - I want a DARK room!)

Absolute minimum number of buttons to do all that you need it to do. Nothing extra - nothing to get wrong!! Every item that I've purchased in the last 8 years has had an iPod/MP3 adapter. I just need a dang clock! FM/AM radio - NO THANKS! Just an alarm for me! Don't confuse me with more buttons! I'm half asleep whenever I'm fumbling with a clock - EASY PEASY PLEASY!

And the sound! It's not the shrill sound that you get in so many little alarm clocks. Just a nice pleasant mellow little beep. More than I'd sleep through, less than would make me want to smash it with a sock full of marbles.

BUY THIS CLOCK!

I hate the traditional alarm clock design. For a long time I've used my cell phone because it wasn't dependent on the electric company and I never really ran into any travel clocks that were that durable so suffice to say I've had a Hugh lack of confidence in the traditional plug into the wall alarm clock or cheap travel clock. Cell phones are great but when you're in a situation where it is paramount that you make that appointment it's also nice to have a back up plan. This little clock uses almost no battery power so it last forever or many years on a few triple A batteries and it actually works. Every alarm clock should be this well thought out. When you have to depend on your local electrical company for whether your going to make that oh so important interview or not you're taking a hugh gamble. I think it's better to be in control of your own destiny and unplug. And also I bought this for my son who somehow always got caught in either a faulty cell phone alarm or oops the power went out and was late for class and I can gladly say with confidence this solved his/our problem.

Great little clock for the money. Alarm starts out slow, then gets faster and more annoying if you don't turn it off and get up. Just what I wanted! Plan to use it for travel to Europe this summer.

The backlight on the clock stopped working within a month of purchase. And, yes, the button for the backlight (and also snooze) does make a surprisingly loud *click.* But since the backlight no longer works, there's very little reason to hit the button in the night and wake anybody up! Also, it does not fold up as many travel clocks do. However, I do like the size of the clock and numbers. It is easy to operate. I still use it by the bed despite the broken backlight.

My car clock isn't working right and would give me the wrong time. I really didn't want to spend the money and time to rip apart the dashboard on an older car just to replace the clock.

So I decided to buy a clock for the car. I mean how hard can it be right? I spent like 2 hours trying to find a glow in the dark clock! Seriously, nobody makes one that is small enough for a car! I toyed with the idea of buying some glow in the dark paint and paint over a small automobile clock but decided the next best thing would be one that lights up when pressed.

Then I ran into another snag, there isn't a lot of clocks made for cars that light up and the ones that do are either around $20-30 or have really small buttons for the light. I wanted something big so I can just quickly reach over and push it when I am driving.

Finally, I stumbled upon the travel clock section and decided to get this. It is a bit big on my dash board but doesn't look that bad. I used two sided vecro strips so it can be taken off if needed to change batteries or what not. Easy to set up and pretty hardy feeling too.

One thing I notice is that if it is really warm in the car (when it is sitting out in the sun), the clock screen is completely black. However, when I turn the air conditioner on, it goes back to normal.

Separate hour and minute buttons make it easy to set the time. This has a large display which I like.
