I purchased the CD after hearing a clip of Midway State's music on the Toronto Much Music awards... and it is one of my favourite CDs! They offer a very unique sound that is refreshing. If you like piano music and heartfelt lyrics, you should definitely check out this CD -- well worth the money.

The Midway State's new album 'Holes' is absoutely wonderful. We think everyone would love this album. Nathan's (lead vocals and piano) voice and his tickleing of the ivories shines in every song. It's absolutely breathtaking. Daenen (drums) has something very sepcial when it comes to his drumming, especially in the song "Fireflies". Mike Kirsh (Bass) and Mike Wise (Guitar) play their instruments beautifully. Putting all four of these men together is by far an excellent album. Anybody whose anybody should buy their cd. The Midway State are very talented men and we were lucky enought to see them live in Chicago when they were the opening band for another one of our fav's, Mika. After that night, we just coudln't get enough of their music. This album shines. All the songs are brilliant. Even the booklet inside the cd is too cute. Each band member has gorgeous pics that you have to see. So do yourself a favor and get this cd, you definately won't be sorry. We think that anybody will love this music. Plus it would make a great gift!!!

The Midway State's new album "Holes" is AMAZING! These guys are truly talented. They have such a new, unique sound. I immediatly fell in love with every song the first time I listened; it would be impossible not to. Every song is so powerful, lyrically as well as musically. It's so refreshing to know that there are still bands out there that know how "real" music is supposed to sound. "Holes" is a perfect example of that. It never leaves my cd player!
