A provocative look at the CFC ozone depletion scare, arguing that the scientific evidence does not support it.

The Ozone Hoax,

This very well written book completely shreds the ozone depletion hoax to pieces. The references used to make their case are extensive. The main problem with the ozone hoaxsters, is not what they tell us. It's what they are NOT telling us. For example, they will show you a graph that indicates that the ozone is thinning. But the graph will only cover a small time period. What they don't tell you, is that if you go back a few more years, say, to 1959, the graph will show that the ozone is thickening. This is where Al Gore learned his propaganda techniques. You will learn chapter by chapter, what the ozone hoaxsters DO NOT want you to know. And guess what? Mother Nature turns out to be the biggest chlorine emitter! I love this book.

Having learnt about the 'Ozone Hole' and the Montreal protocol some years ago I had swallowed the story that CFCs were causing this phenomenon and that CFCs had to be removed otherwise we were "off to Hell in a hand-basket" (or words to that effect). Now, in 2011 having read this book which was first published in 1992 (and I have an updated 1996 version) I was not the slightest bit surprised to find that the overall story was actually a precursor for the present "CO2 is causing global warming" fraud. Amongst the 'players' in the supposed "Ozone Hole" crisis was - surprise! surprise! - the then Senator Albert Gore claiming that it was causing, amongst other things, the spread of AIDS!As it happens, I have read a great deal about the history of the CO2 scare, in particular books by Christopher Booker and Ian Wishart which were a total revelation about pseudo-scientific scaremongering and financial and political manipulations by various parties hell-bent on achieving their ideological objectives, and so when I read this book written years earlier about the supposed "Ozone Hole" crisis it was just deja vu. One only has to transpose or interchange the scares - "Ozone Hole" for "CO2 global warming" and its like playing exactly the same music but with a different orchestra. This book exposes the pseudo-scientific chicanery, the 'snake-oil' salesman activities of those promoting the concept, the financial manipulations to a make a few very rich indeed (at the expense of the poor - of course) and, most importantly, the funding up of a number of the 'environmental' movements and the infiltration of educational establishments with quasi-religious 'environmentalism' in order to create a wonderful mechanism for future propaganda. The late unlamented Herr Doktor Josef Goebbels would have been delighted. This book shows up to perfection just how successful is "The Big Lie" technique, and how this can capture the minds of so many of Lenin's "useful idiots". So, even though it was written some 20 years ago, it is totally relevant to the present-day campaign to 'save the planet' from the supposed 'pollution' of CO2. exactly the same type of alarmism is being promoted now as was the case about the "Ozone Hole". Thus we see today's 'environmentalism' being used in the same way: deprive the poor and disadvantaged of the very things that can not only lift them out of poverty but also achieve that most necessary of objectives: through education and an improve standard living the corollary of a reduced birth rate, thus REALLY saving the planet from an exploding and increasingly desperate and thus exploitative population relying on primitive and destructive methods merely to survive. And by the way, GENUINE research showing that this phenomenon is not only seasonal but also subject to solar cycles was first carried out in the 1930s. That this was covered up years later is nothing short of scandalous. Criminal is probably a better word.

CFCs: Not Guilty of Destroying Ozone,
By James McNulty (Wichita, Kansas USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Holes in the Ozone Scare: The Scientific Evidence That the Sky Isn't Falling (Paperback)
These authors have done an excellent job of compiling well hidden facts, that if were published in media before 1990 would have nipped the environmental hoax of ozone depletion in the bud. There are literally dozens of natural sources for chlorine, such as vaporizing sea water and bacterial action that create atmospheric ozone. In addition, volcanoes belch thousands of tons of ostensibly ozone depleting chlorine atoms in to the atmosphere every year. One of these, Mt Erebus, is in the Antarctic. Exactly where they took chlorine measurements in the 80s and early 90s. In addition to this freon molecules are 50 times heavier than air. The Enviro-Socialists would have us believe that these heavy freon molecules somehow floated high into the troposphere and began munching on tasty ozone molecules. Problem is: No lab has ever been able to duplicate this remarkable ozone eating processed hypothesized by pseudo-scientists Sherwood Rowland and Mario Molina. These two yahoos even made history by being the only two recipients of the Nobel prize ever to be protested by the scientific community. Gee, I wonder why? The Montreal Protocol outlawing freon ensured monopoly of refrigerant production by the major chemical companies of the world, British Chemical Co. of England and DuPont (under the Jewish Bronfmans) in America. It's very easy to see that the only thing green about the environmental movement is M-O-N-E-Y. And lots of it.

First entertaining, scientific book on Ozone (global warming),

21st century science associates wrote an entertaining and deeply scientific picture on the one and only one Ozone hole. This is the same information used for global-warming.
The drawings and graphs show why somethings can never occur. The concepts are briefly made clear so the ideas will stay with you. The science is covered, then where the fraud occurs. It closes with the mystic motivation behind everything.

A very good overview of the scientific arguments agains the ozone depletion scare. Unfortunately the last few chapters are a conspiracy theory that is overstated.David (dwojick@shentel.net)

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing,

Maduro's book is a typical example of an "environmental backlash" diatribe. He presents numerous examples of what he interprets to be flaws in the ozone depletion theory, yet despite the fact that the book goes on for 356 pages, Maduro cannot refute these simple indisputable facts which connect CFCs to ozone depletion:1) Most chlorine in the stratosphere is of man-made origin (CFCs). 2) Chlorine becomes reactive towards ozone at low temperatures in the presence of polar stratospheric clouds which occur only over Antarctica in the wintertime. Contrary to Maduro's evidence, it is well established that ozone depletion has only been observed in the time since CFCs achieved high concentrations in the atmosphere (1970s to present). Therefore, simple logic dictates that man-made CFCs cause ozone depletion.

Yeah, and Elvis is still alive!,

This review is from: The Holes in the Ozone Scare: The Scientific Evidence That the Sky Isn't Falling (Paperback)
This blend of fantasy and fiction presents a carefully woven story created from selected "facts" interconnected with paranoia and hypothesis at a level only a lawyer could appreciate. This is a good read if you think Elvis is still alive or that extraterrestrials live among us. It is unforntunate that I have to award this thing even one star
