Book Description

Amazon readers say: "What a delightful read!"
"You smile non-stop while reading."
"Christmas will never be the same after reading these hilarious stories!"

Get in the holiday spirit any time of year with these funny, sweet romantic short stories. Discover the loose thread that connects the stories and ties up in a perfect happy ending, bringing together characters from all the stories. 8,000 to 12,000 words in length each, these fun and sexy shorts are the perfect length for your lunch break. Plus, it's cheaper than dashing off to the coffee shop--with fewer calories.

The stories include:

“Spooked by Love”
After divorcing her husband, Marnie’s afraid to trust her heart again. Her ex is moving on fine, but she hasn’t even been on her first post-divorce date. She can’t handle another break-up. Then she meets a hot single dad at her daughter’s Halloween party and he’s got his eye on Marnie. The only problem: he claims he’s just out for fun. Is anything scarier than giving romance a second chance?

“Holiday Rush”
A Black Friday shopping-trip-gone-wrong loses Lindy her job, her guy, and her dignity. Then it gets worse—she has no choice but to take a job she loathes. But there’s one bonus in the deal: a seriously hot boss who might help her feel that holiday rush again.

“Missing Christmas”
Is Ginny just homesick, or did she make the mistake of her life? Ginny’s spending her first Christmas away from home, but she’s not feeling the spirit of the season. She moved down south to be with her boyfriend, and now she’s having serious regrets about leaving her family and friends behind. Does new love trump twenty-three years of holiday tradition?

“Tingle All The Way”
Jessica has never bought into the magic of Christmas, but when a mistaken call to 911 ruins the holiday for Morgan, the little girl next door, Jessica will do everything she can to make it up to her—and to Morgan’s hottie uncle. Can Jessica turn her worst Christmas ever into the best one yet?

“Giving Up Guys”
Three friends, one vow, and a drunken toast. These gals are giving up guys for their New Year’s resolution. During the next six weeks, they’ll pursue something besides men—like new hobbies and classes. Good luck with that, ladies.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars from Red Adept Reviews January 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Overall: 3.5 stars

Plot/Storyline: 4 stars
These somewhat-interrelated romances (NOT romantic comedies, in case that is what you were expecting) are set around different holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Valentine's Day. The character-driven tales are quite predictable and not-quite-believable, with each lonely woman meeting Mr. Right in the least likely way, but this won't be a drawback to romance fans. "Missing Christmas" is the exception; the perfect hero and heroine are already living together as the story starts, facing problems. And Scott skips the detailed sex scenes that push some romances over the line into erotica. There are a few minor plot holes. When a character turns out to have had a good first marriage but a lousy second marriage, Scott never indicates which marriage produced the child. The police don't take missing-person reports on adults for 24 hours. Only romance fans will enjoy the stories.

Characters: 3 stars
The stories are peopled almost exclusively by stock characters - wounded divorcee, lonely workaholic, tired-of-dating singles - but this again won't be a drawback to those who like the genre. All the women are incredibly gorgeous, all the men are heavenly hunks who have resisted all other women for years but instantly fall for the heroine, and able to read their woman's mind and do exactly what is needed, totally understanding and supportive. Scott keeps the story so focused on the main characters that the reader may not notice that she pays very little attention to the minor characters.

Writing style: 3.5 stars
Sentence structure is clean and appropriate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lisa hits a Holiday home run November 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you have read the other Flirts you'll love this one. It puts the Holiday spirit in your heart. You smile non-stop while reading and you get that warm feeling as each story is connected to the other and they all come together in the end. Read Holiday Flirts and get your holiday season off to a good start. The stories are short enough to read while standing in line for that special Christmas present and you may find a few ideas for gifts just from reading the stories. If this is your first Flirts, go back and read the other two. You'll fall in love with Lisa and find yourself waiting for her next book. Kindle Keyboard, Wi-Fi, 6" E Ink Display - includes Special Offers & Sponsored Screensavers

5.0 out of 5 stars A Holiday Treat December 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
"Holiday Flirts" is like a nice box of Christmas candy. The stories each have their own flavor and make you feel good. Lisa Scott has a knack for setting up a quick romantic encounter. A girl gets locked in a dressing room over night and finds her HEA with the store manager. A neighbor thinks she is foiling a thief, but is really messing up a Christmas surprise. Three gal-pals make a New Years Resolution to give up men and learn something new until Valentine's Day. She writes novella-length, but delivers engaging characters and fun situations. Perfect reading on the go when you want to have a mental vacation. Purchase and enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Connections between short stories are fun, yet..... December 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I enjoyed Lisa Scott's FLIRTS, FIVE ROMANTIC SHORT STORIES, so I was eager to pick up the HOLIDAY FLIRTS collection at this time of year. I did enjoy them, also read them very quickly....found myself skimming at times. It's unfortunate that even reading quickly for enjoyment, I stumbled across multiple examples of missing punctuation, misuse of words (i.e., Santa Clause is a play on words and a movie title with that purpose...when truly, the jolly old elf is Santa Claus, and 'with out' instead of 'without'). There were enough of these that I have to wonder if anyone proofread. Those unnecessary mistakes aside, the connections between the short stories are fun....and while the original FLIRTS collection remains my favorite, this holiday set is along the same lines.

3.0 out of 5 stars Holiday Flirts - For holiday light reading April 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Several short stories made up this book...

A book about love and holidays and personally .. a book about how to lead a wonderful life, meet new people, and be bountiful despite whatever negative vibe / event. Is it a must read? I do recommend the book I must say. Especially if you need some light hearted moments.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute, not outstanding December 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
All the stories were cute, some much better than others. Very uneven. The last one was my favorite but it had so many typos and grammatical and formatting issues it was distracting.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute stories February 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I didn't find Holiday Flirts to be quite as good as Lisa Scott's other Flirt books but the stories were still fun to read. The stories didn't fit together as naturally and parts of the plots seemed to be somewhat contrived. Nevertheless, I found these short romances to be entertaining and I was left with a warm feeling when I finished the book. If you like romances like I do, then chances are you will like Holiday Flirts so I recommend hat you give it a try. You're sure to get some smiles if you do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lisa Scott does it again! December 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
First I read "Flirts" then I read "Beach Flirts". Now with "Holiday Flirts" Lisa Scott has created another enjoyable collection. Each of the five stories in the collecton is a stand alone work. However, the stories all tie together through characters and location. Each story is short enough for a quick read but I find myself reading the entire book straight through. Ms. Scott's stories bring a smile to my face and sometimes a tear to my eye as in the case of the "delivery" scene in "Holiday Rush" this go round. I can hardly wait until the end of the month for "Fairy Tale Flirts" to come out. Highly recommend Ms. Scott's Flirts series as well as her stand alone novels. Every one is a delight!
