Taking what helps, leaving what does not
I found this book to be valuable in looking at different perspectives and approaches to coping with grief and loss during holidays and special times during the year. Should NOT be named Holiday Hope!!!
This book is terrible! I don't know where the editor came up with the title. It offers no hope--in fact, it offers the exact opposite--despair! It's a book full of new age mumbo-jumbo. Save your money ...

Taking what helps, leaving what does not, September 9, 2003
This review is from: Holiday Hope: Remembering Loved Ones During Special Times of the Year (Paperback)
I found this book to be valuable in looking at different perspectives and approaches to coping with grief and loss during holidays and special times during the year. Although not all of it applies to everyone, the reader can take from it what speaks to them personally and leave the rest. Situations and experiences are shared from real life. Suggestions and ideas on how to cope are practical and personal. This is a good read for anyone facing those "firsts" after a loss: the first birthday, anniversary or holiday that one's loved one is not present. The book can also be something good to pass on to others who have had a loss, use in a support group or share with one's church family.
