I am a big fan of Top Chef, but contestant Betty makes this season almost unwatchable. The winner is also pretty hard to like. But, the challenges are interesting, and there's always a twist! This is fun for cooks and avid eaters alike.

Another Great season although I believe Marcell was Robbed..I have never seen another contestant treated so unfairly..The winner (imho) should have been eliminated when the other contestant was...Anyway, that aside, there is a lot of creative input and is very entertaining to watch..There are plenty of good characters and situations..Please hurry up and release all these seasons on dvd...Thankyou...

I'm a loyal Top Chef fan - but this season is almost unbearable. SPOILERS. It's chock full of bullies - loud ones like Betty and sly, passive aggressive ones like Ilan. I really like Elia for most of the season but turning on Marcel based on hear-say?? Poorly done, Elia. And Bahta-BOO-Betty....ugh where to start...
1. One, she's a CHEATER.
2. She handles Carlos' criticism of her SO poorly. She tried to do the honorable thing and not pick someone to go home when the judges asked her - but of course it was easy at that point. As soon as Carlos names Betty, she can't get "Carlos is OUT" fast enough.
3. Her constant complaining about Marcel being selfish and ruining her not-a-creme-brűlée. Hello? He helped her PLATE. The crap concept was yours, Betty. And that random comment about him not helping to set up one of the kitchens during the thanksgiving dinner? Are you kidding me?? She comments before they started cooking about how glad she was that they had cleaned it that morning! Plus Marcel was too busy cleaning up HIS kitchen.
4. The disgusting language and behavior - Marcel deserved an apology for that verbal assault at the least. Betty seemed to think apologizing for it once in confessional once excused it because she sure as heck felt it was okay to continue the behavior.

I could go on, and not just about Betty. Ilan, Cliff, even Sam at times showed such immaturity and a lack of professionalism. I would not spend one dime in any of their businesses.

I was going to call this season a train wreck, but I think a bus wreck is more appropriate. There are bodies under the bus every episode. If you enjoy the carnage, this season is for you! Unprofessional, mean spirited slackers, the lot of them. In 9 seasons this group is the worst, but the drama is extreme, think "Housewives" in chef's coats, but like most wrecks, it's hard not to watch.

I love top chef so no matter which season I am going to own it and love it. This is my least favorite season. I didn't enjoy the cast as much... they made it a disapointing season, but even a dissapointing season is one that I will still watch, and there are moments and episodes that make it worth it. I love the Thanksgiving episode with Anthony Bourdain as the guest judge! I would Probably purchase it last in the series because I think the other seasons are far superior. But, like I said... still worth owning. They have recently released seasons 4 and 5 to dvd, and I hope they do so with the other seasons...because I will buy them all, but I still own them all on my Amazon account as well... makes it easier when I am on the go... don't have to carry the dvd's with me! I think by far that Top Chef is the best "reality competition" show out there. And who doesn't love Tom Colicchio... he is awesome!

I love Top Chef, but came to it late and somehow missed season two until now. This season had by far the worst cast of characters. They weren't just competitive or aggressive; they were actually pretty mean-spirited and it got ugly in an awkward way. It was tough watching Marcel getting abused over and over again by other chefs could not see that they were actually the ones who had some pretty serious character issues. Really sad to see who won the serious, because he was the worst of the lot. Still a good season, but certainly far from the best. This season also had a number of chefs who were clearly overmatched and did not belong.
