AMAZING!!!!!!!!,

I am a BIG fan of Mary-Kate & Ashley and I waited an extra week, calling everyday to my local video store until they received the movie and saved me a copy. I rushed home to watch Holiday In The Sun which I found to be amazing. Fun, outgoing and closer to their age. I happen to be two weeks older than Mary-Kate & Ashley so I love how their movies relate to our age. The location was beautiful, the plot was fun and the guys were HOT! This video is a must and #1 on my Christmas list!

now i've been a mary-kate and ashley fan for I don't know how long- ever since full house. Well, anyway, I don't have this movie, but I saw it at a friend's house and though a part of me likes it just because it's Mary-Kate and Ashley, another part is just irked by how far fetched the plot is. First, they get whisked off to the Bahamas in a private jet and then they're mad about it because they miss their school trip to Hawaii (poor them!) They have to make the "best out of the situation". Personally, if I had problems like that, I would be... them! Anyway, they get the cutest guys on the beach, their parents are 20 years too young and totally aloof from their surroundings, and not to mention that they're in one of the greatest resorts on the entire planet (with their own suite)?! Well anyway, there's pretty much like half of a story line here, the girls' boyfriend (one of them) is secretly involved with an antiquity smuggling case- unknowingly of course. This lands him in jail. The girls must save him and keep little miss snot head richie rich Brianna Wallace away from him. All in all its an ok movie, only to be appreciated by mary-kate and ashley fans. BUT, they do have a great wardrobe and the scenery is great, which is why I have this two stars.

MK&A Holiday in the Sun,
By Geraldine A. Schneider "Cincysweety" (Cincinnati, OH United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)

I rented this movie for my 5 and 8 year old daughters and thought it a bit "old" for them, but they still enjoyed the Olsen twins, being who they are. Mary-Kate and Ashley have grown up so I think we'll have to stick to their older films, but this is a good one for the 10 and up crowd. I did like the song "Us Against the World" by Play and bought the single CD for my girls. Play consists of three 13-year olds and one 12 year-old from Sweden, and they sound great. I enjoy that CD better than anything else from the movie. I found the movie alright but the place where it was filmed was "AWESOME"! I plan an taking my family there someday...

This is a very good move for anybody who likes Mary-Kate and Ashley, and who enjoys a good mystery. I bought this movie to take on a road trip, & watched it every bit of the way. You should buy it. :)

I've got to words for you. Totally Groovy! I loved this movie! The scenes were awesome (swimming with dolphins, feeding sting-rays, jet boating) the twins were cool (as usual), the guys were cute & the clothes were wicked. I love all the Olsen twins movies but I think this has got to be my very Favourite!!!

A Better Film for Mary-Kate and Ashley,
By Lizzie (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Holiday in the Sun (DVD)
Holiday in the Sun is about Alex and Madison who are whisked away to the Bahamas for their winter break. They are staying at the awesome hotel, Atlantis, where they have fun in the sun and, of course, always find a boyfriend. A family friend, Griffen, likes Madison though she is going out with a dull surfer dude named Scott. Alex is pining for a relationship with a worker at Atlantis named Jordan, though she has to compete with a super-rich girl named Brianna Wallace. This is one of MK+A's better films because of more talented actors and actresses and better plot line. The conflict in the story, though, (Being taken to jail for stealing antiquities and trying to prove Jordan innocent) is kind of corny. I would reccomend this movie to any MK+A fan or any girl 6-12 or 13 years of age. The soundtrack for this movie is also really cool!

Not The Best Of Mary-Kate And Ashley,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Holiday in the Sun (DVD)
Me and my sister are big MK&A fans, but this is definitley not one of their best movies. Usually in their films, they have some sort of plot..along with the whole boyfriend sidestories. This time, the boyfriend stories are the whole movie..and it gets a little tired after a while. Excuse me girls, where did your minds go? It shows girls that their whole lives need to revolve around guys, when they should have been focusing on other things. In the other movies with the girls in them , the movies are not only entertaining, but they involve other things (ie winning london they go to london for a school team). This movie makes the girls look shallow. And whats up with them and smoothies??

A great way for the Olsen twins to get rid of some fans!,
This review is from: Holiday in the Sun [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Why doesn't Amazon allow to rate a movie with negative stars? After great master pieces of Winning London and Our lips are sealed, Mary-Kate and Ashley finally managed to make Passport to Paris no longer my least favorite Olsen movie. Some professional reviewers claimed that Holiday in the sun is a commercial for the Atlantis hotel... they are so 100% right! The DVD even starts with a commercial for Atlantis! Even before the Warner Bros logo pops up! How low can you go? I thought commercials were always a taboo for movie actors... either I am wrong with that thought, or the twins really need to do some major changes.

Is that all you care about? How cute the twins' clothes are? Their designer duds apparently cannot make up for their riduculous yet extremely funny movie. Funny, in this case, means its so much fun to watch the video because every scene is an open door for criticism and ridicule! One of my fave scenes is when the girls and Griffin go looking for Champlaine, the "white-haired guy" in the market place. The twins spot an innocent passerbyer sitting in a car or something, and they ask, "Have you seen a white-haired guy around here?" Then the dude says "Ya' know, y'know I , I saw a guy like that..."and points to some place. Yes, what a reputable source. Well, he must have been, because all of a sudden, Champlaine--who, even as an old guy, can still outrun three teenagers--is spotted. After the girls and Griffin say, "There he is!" and "Let's get him!" and, my personal favorite, "Get out of our way!" about a million trillion times, they unfortunately find Champlaine on a boat drifting off to who know's where. What did they expect to do with Champlaine after they caught him? Lasso him to a palm tree? Hold his hands behind his back as they all walk to the police station? Oh, and what's up with the Children's Fund look-a-likes in the market place? You know, those kids with serious expressions on their faces that keep showing up? When they add that grainy, black and white color to it, the kids are dead ringers for those needy, helpless children in Brazil they show on those commercials ("...please don't change the channel. Only 70 cents a day can help...") Another thing: Sorry peeps, but Jordan is so not hot--not even slightly cute. Yet, Alex still goes for the guy despite the dude's case of pimples--at the dance, the lighting illuminates his acne. Did any one bust a gut when they watched the dance scene? You know, the part where Brianna is asked, "What's up?" and she replies, "Not my temperature..." That part was a classic example of bad script writers. I am sure there are dozens of scenes I could disect in my review, but I can't remember them all; there are too many. So that is all. I can't wait till "Sweet 16" comes out...more scenes to make fun of!!!!
