The Olsen twins have done it again!,

Kudos again to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen! This CD is sophisticated, trendy and ultra-hip, like their other recent CDs, movies, and clothing line. It is perfect for my 8-year-old...not babyish, but not sleazy like a lot of music targeted at her age group or preteens. The overall message of the songs is: GIRL POWER! Parents, you will actually be able to listen to this again and again without wanting to retch! Something you and your kids can listen to together. This mom, 8- and 4-year old daughters recommend it!

Where did they get these songs? Not from the movie...,

The motion picture sountrack to Holiday in the Sun was a colossal dissapointment. I bought the cd expecting to hear all of the great tunes from the film, but upon listening to it I was instead surprised with songs NOT in the film. I'm not sure where the record company got half of the album- obviously not from the movie. For instance, if you like the version of 'Island in the Sun' that is in the movie, you would be better off downloading it online, as the version in the movie is by Weezer and is not on the album (shocker!). And if you liked all of the girl tunes by Superchic(k) that were in the movie, you will really be dissapointed, because there is not one song on the album by the band (even though there are at least 3 songs by Superchic(k) in the movie)! I ended up buying Superchic(k)'s Karaoke Superstars because not only does it have all of the Superchic(k) songs from the movie, it also has remixes of those same songs.
I gave the album three stars because while I was irritated that many of the songs from the movie weren't on it, it still had a few from the movie, and over all the album is pretty good.

well, even though my opinion is a bit biased since i'm a long time olsen fan, this is pretty good. Its not exactly get up and dance music, but you're guarenteed to have the tune stuck in your bopping head. The movie on the other hand was alright, Its was certainly not the better storyline, but its rather good too.

Cute CD,

This is pretty good CD .. a little like the movie: fun and enjoyable, but with little substance. However, it's worth the ... plus shipping and handeling, if only for the song "Shades of Love." By the way, does anyone know if Ben Easter really sings it? Anway, while a little overproduced and hollow sounding, it's a nice song - the lead singer (whether Ben Easter or not) has a voice that works well with the song and gives it a sound maybe a little too not-pop for a Mary-Kate and Ashley soundtrack. I also enjoy the songs "One Girl Revolution" (which they play repeatedly in the movie) and "Island in the Sun" - however, I prefer the Weezer version.. why did they put that one in the movie, but the Empty Trash f. Mary-Kate & Ashley version on the sountrack? I was unimpressed with Play's "Us Against the World," just because we do not need any more preteen girl groups with minimal talent (not that I'm worried about them making it big or anything). But, considering that this is the worst song on the CD (in my opinion), the Olsens did an okay job with this soundtrack. It's not great or anything, but it's an enjoyable listen.

This is my favorite CD of all time. I've never listened to it, but I love the cover. I wish I was 25 years younger so I might have a chance with one or both of them. OH YEA!
