Each of these three films is excellent on its own, but the three together at a great price is over the top. The Christmas Shoes is a classic that tugs at the heart strings and I love to watch it every year. I showed it to my young grandchildren this year and they love it. The Christmas Blessing is the sequel to The Christmas Shoes and is also an excellent film. I believe that this deserves to be call a classic as well. The Christmas Hope is also an excellent film and will bring a tear to the eye of the toughest person. I enjoy watching all three of these every year and am pleased to be able to add them to my collection. I would give all three films five stars on their own, but as a collection, I'm sorry that I can't give an even higher rating. If you love Christmas/Feel Good movies as much as I do, then these are a musst-have for your collection.

The first installment on this DVD, The Christmas Shoes, is a wonderful movie. In fact, I would go so far as to say I thought is was better than the book. While the book is inspiring, it is relatively short and the characters aren't developed nearly as well as they are in the movie. Most movies based on a book, of course, contain dialog and some story-lines not found in the book, in order to make a full length movie. That said, the movie was well-done in all aspects, even with the addition of some material not found in the book. Five stars for this one.

That is NOT the case with the second movie in the set...The Christmas Blessing. This was a horrible and totally unnecessary re-write of a wonderful book. What were the producers/writers thinking? and why didn't the author object?? I actually read the book shortly AFTER I saw the movie, and was appalled at the changes made in the movie. The book was a moving, wonderfully told and uplifting story. The lead characters in the movie were horribly MIS-cast. They looked much older than they were supposed to be. There were a few relatively mild (by today's standards) profanities included, not in the book of course. With the exception of a few basic story-lines taken from the book, the entire thing was rewritten for the movie with some parts straining credulity...up and out to Christmas festivities shortly after an organ transplant??? I didn't enjoy the movie at all when I saw it, and after reading the book I understood why. I give a total thumbs-down on this movie version. ONE star for this movie. FIVE stars for the original book.

The third movie, The Christmas Hope...was MUCH better overall than the second. Since I have not yet read that book, however, I can't comment on how true it was to the book. The movie itself gets 4 stars from me.

Very inspiring movies for everyone. They make you appreciate what you have, all the blessings of health and Love. Everyone needs a good cry now and then and these are those type movies. Helps you remember what Christmas is all about, the Little Baby Jesus and not what you are gonna get...or give.

The only reason I didn't give five stars is these movies made me cry! They really were great, just tearjerkers. So if you don't mind that, I recommend this triple feature!

The movies them selves were great but I was truely dissapointed in this day and age that there was no closed caption or subtitles. My husband can't hear and we like to watch movies together. For that reason and that reason alone I will not be able to order movies on line.
