5.0 out of 5 stars SHE'S A WITCH, I HATE HER!
The definitive Christmas CD is here. Wandering in dementia you will come upon some of the most hilarious holiday songs ever written. While Dr. Demento Presents: Greatest Xmas Novelty CD serves up a dinner table of fabulous "oldies" of this genre (and is also a "must have") Holiday in Dementia brings us a whole new collection of weirdness. 3.0 out of 5 stars Uneven Holiday Humor
This is an uneven collection of Holiday novelty songs. By their nature, novelty songs are intended to be humorous or funny. Some of the songs on this collection are and some are not.

This collection consists of more comedy routines than musical numbers. The arrangement of songs was weird to me in that it started weak, with the Twelve Pains of Christmas, and...

5.0 out of 5 stars SHE'S A WITCH, I HATE HER!, August 28, 2001

The definitive Christmas CD is here. Wandering in dementia you will come upon some of the most hilarious holiday songs ever written. While Dr. Demento Presents: Greatest Xmas Novelty CD serves up a dinner table of fabulous "oldies" of this genre (and is also a "must have") Holiday in Dementia brings us a whole new collection of weirdness. Everyone's favorite man of the cloth Father Guido Sarducci moans "Santa's Lament", a tale of ungrateful children and robotic "yes" elves what will make you howl. "The Twelve Pains of Christmas" is a that same old tune with a whole new set of lyrics that take us through a sleigh ride of deterioration as folks battle the season and each other (my favorite line in the song sung by a woman who begins by caroling the joys of cooking a holiday dinner for her inlaws and finally screams out "She's a witch! I hate her!"). . "Rusty Chevrolet" is a sleigh of a different color which speeds through town, trying to pick up booze and layaways while losing parts in its wake. Divorced with spoiled kids? "Christmas Is Coming Twice This Year" is the tune for you. There are so many more. And you can end the year with "It's Christmas and I Wonder Where I Am" as you stagger from party to party, sleep it off and awake to "New Year's Resolutions." Yep, this one covers it all. You will be laughing into the next year.

4.0 out of 5 stars Merry Christmas, but I think I'll miss this one this year., December 14, 2005

This is the second Christmas CD compiled by Dr. Demento. Most of the best known Christmas novelty songs are on his first Christmas CD, so this one isn't quite as good as that one. But there are a lot of funny lesser know songs here. In addition to Christmas, there are two songs each about Hanukkah and New Year's. Fans of mad music and crazy comedy should enjoy this CD.

The songs are fun, especially if you are really tired of the traditional Xmas songs. Many of the pieces are not for elementary-age kids.

I have been trying for years to locate the selection: "The Pretty Little Dolly". Finally! The whole CD is fantastic! If you're in a mood to laugh and have fun, then this is the CD you'll want.

Life just wouldn't be the same without Dr. Demento and listening to Holiday in Dementia provides the Christmas touch. And yes I love the old stand-bys but when you need a smile Dr. D is ready with one of his funny albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars dr christmas demento two, November 29, 2011

he did it again. my only real complaint is that he didnt add dickie goodmans santa and the sattelite but nevermind. i hve that on another album anyway.bob rivers the twelve pains of christmas is a good song its the only song of his i heard on the radio. rusty chevroley is good too. people told me about that song several times over before i actually heard it. i started to wonder if it actually existed. in the liner notes dr demento says that the chipmpmunk song which is on his first christmas cd is pure naked greed. or at least the lyrics. i dont agree with that. ive heard that song since i was a little kid and would have caught that a long time ago. one song that is pure naked greed is the hollytones christmas is coming twice this year. that is good too and so isthe other song of theirs he put on there gridlockchristmas. the humor in that one is subtle but its there. the whole album is good. merry christmas.
