This review is from: Holla Back...but Listen First: A Life Guide for Young Black Men (Paperback)
Mister Mann Frisby did an awesome job with writing, "Holla Back"!! He, as well as the 29 others who contributed to the book should be very proud of themselves. This book has staying power, and will be around for years to come. Reason being, the men left no stone unturned with the topics discussed. Especially, the most sensitive and uncomfortable, like male molestation and homosexuality. I view, Frisby's inclusion of the topics as brave and responsible. His doing so, showed his sincerity in truly wanting to reach out to ALL young black men.
It's great to see accomplished men from all walks of life attempting to make an impact on the lives and minds of younger men. "Holla Back", is an excellent blueprint for properly steering boys and young men into manhood!!!! To name a few, the book features interviews with Boris Kodjoe, Kirk Franklin, John Legend, and Common. All of whom are sharing words of wisdom and personal stories of growing pains. |
