The Trailers have never failed to impress, dating back to April 2002 when I first saw them live in Philly. Although I don't listen to that much country music, the Trailers have clearly defined their unique sound in a manner anyone can enjoy. Holler Back will be a mainstay in anyone's CD changer, guaranteed. This album rocks!

The Lost Trailers hit it out of the park with this one. They keep getting better with each album. I wish them much success.

I was going to write my own review, but after reading Matthew Wright's review why bother? He hit it dead-on. I think 4.4 stars is about right, I really enjoy this cd.

While the Trailers' latest release is a departure from the Southern Rock sound of "Welcome to the Woods" (an excellent album, well worth checking out if you haven't) that endeared so many of their early fans to them, that's no reason to not appreciate this recent Country offering. A genre change is going to understandably alienate some fans, but luckily I like both styles and have to say that overall I really enjoyed the album. Admittedly, there are some country clichés and stereotypes in here, but that tends to go with the territory. The songs range from light-hearted (Holler Back, Country Folks) to heartbreak (How 'Bout You Don't, All This Love) with a good range of material in between. My favorite track is probably The Rest of Us, a song about the searching and struggling we go through while trying to find love and our place in the world.
Don't let the bitter reviews of fans of their older sound turn you off to buying what is a great country album.

Sell Outs,
This review is from: Holler Back (Audio CD)
Really disappointed the band turned their back on solid music and sold out to pop country. Welcome to the Woods is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's music that will stand the test of time and a true accomplishment. The new crap they're putting out is sad and makes me long for another album with quality songs like "The Battery" and "Fire On The Pontchartrain".

I wasn't very impressed with this CD at all. Left a lot to be desired.

Their new corporate rock sound really does not compare to their early stuff ( you want early, go all the way back to Story of a New Age Cowboy ).
they are now just the same as the rest of the country pop nonsense that is out there (( and I miss their 'tour journal' from their original website )) Wish them well, but just cant listen to the new stuff.

I definitely suggest, if you don't have this CD, that you better get it. The whole thing is good!

I loved the entire album and i ususally do not like all songs on one album. This group is fantastic! I never buy ringtones or CD's but this time I made "holler back" my ringtone and bought the CD. I hope to hear more from The Lost Trailers in the future.

We waited how long for this album? 2006 and all we got was a lot of songs we already knew and mediocre new one's. Since Ryder took the spot as lead singer, the band just doesn't have the flavor that it use to. It's become Nashville Producer's puke. It's fluff and not the Trailers we use to know. They'd never dare let them record songs like Fire on the Pontchartrain because it's not a "radio hit". I'm surprised they let them record Gravy which is all about selling pot to pay the bills. ((man i hope they don't legalize it, i make more cake when i got to hide it))
I think they need to put Stokes back up front and let his creative juices flow freely like they use to. Not restrict him to whatever a label wants them to be. We need the TRAILERS WE GREW TO LOVE TO COME BACK! |
