5.0 out of 5 stars A great amount of knowledge for the beginner and advanced user!
I actually ordered this book before I realized that the carb on my car was a Weber. Nonetheless I decided to sit down with it an see if it could help me anyway. Boy it did! Firstly the book gets you into a very important chapter about tools and how to use them. This alone is highly valuable information that makes the book worthwhile for me. I now know how to make better...

3.0 out of 5 stars Minimal for the subject, and consequently incomplete.
The authors make too many leaps of faith that carburetors of a given family can all be covered by a single disassembly-assembly treatise. An excellent example is the 1945/1946/1949 series, which are stated to be similar to the 1940 - nothing could be farther from the truth.

I now know how to make better use of my tools and what really makes a tool better. Onto the carbs. The book also goes very well into how a carburetor works, the exact physics of it. Yet it's still written in a manner that anyone can grasp. For me I thought I had real trouble with my carb, I kept thinking that the jets and delivery system were fouled beyond help. Turned out to be the idle circuit bleed screw just had debris built up and preventing the engine from idling. She now runs better than ever and I have this book to thank for that. Really saved my bacon. I've learned that as long as you take on a carb job carefully and wisely you can come out a winner.

Good overview, but Holley has made a lot of different carburetors over the years. Its hard to get to a very high level of detail in one book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holley carburetor manual, January 12, 2012
This review is from: Holley Carburetor Manual (Haynes Techbook) (Paperback)
This technical manual about Holley Carburetors is graceful, powerful, and exhaustive. The treatise remains the most eloquent account available about Holley carburetors. Even another half-century added to the information would still be priceless. This book is timeless! In fact, another intervening half-century would barely date its contents. This tech manual is fully detailed and specific. I would recommend to everyone!
