Review

Sara Holliday completes her pregnancy series with this postnatal video. It's good to see that she's moved away from yoga here, knowing that yoga alone won't get you back into pre-pregnancy shape. In the introduction, Holliday tells you she has two children, one of whom is just 3 months old. To hear that, then to look at her perfectly toned body (including abs), you really want to get a look at this workout. And the workout is a good one (though genetics probably explain that perfectly toned body a little better). She does a good job at turning toning moves into a cardiovascular workout. For instance, you do pulse lunges while doing a biceps curl (without dumbbells even). Then you do slow lunges with an overhead press. Then you quickly switch sides. Next, you alternate one side, then the other. The moves and transitions happen so quickly that your heart rate stays elevated. Holliday performs the moves alone, on a beach, while doing the voiceover separately. Though there are a few instances when Holliday onscreen was a little behind Holliday off screen, it wasn't so distracting that you couldn't do the workout. Her moves seem to target the abdominals (of course), the upper thigh and the glutes. For just 30 minutes (which includes a fast warm-up and a five-minute stretching cool-down), you pack a lot in. Holliday, known more for her yoga videos, is right at home here. The first time I did this workout I was a little underwhelmed. It was fairly easy, the music was somewhat annoying and the cueing was not always great. However, I have continued to use it in my rotation of workout DVDs and it has grown on me. It is short and basic, so its good for a naptime workout. This workout won't get you into great shape all on its own, but it has some very good points. The abdominal workout is really good, as is the kickboxing section and the squats/ plies. Overall, this is a decent, basic, easy workout.

I love this workout because it is fast-paced but easy to follow. Sometimes I don't have a full hour to dedicate to exercising. In a half hour, I can work all areas of my body, get my heart pumping and feel great. The beach in the background is also nice.

I got this video thinking I am going to like it as much as her prenatal ones but I was wrong. The movement is to fast and it's not that easy to follow it. It's not what I expected it to be.
