Destined to become a cult classic,

I loved this book. It's a mystery, a satire, a parody, with some truly, outrageously bizarre scenes. Sure to become a cult classic. If you like Chuck Palahniuk, Brett Easton Ellis, or Warren Ellis' works, give this novel a try. You won't be disappointed.

an intriguing first novel,
By Steve Roth (Ojai, ca) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hollow Man: A (Transgressive) Novel Of Suspense (Paperback)
The Hollow Man is wet-yourself funny. Thank you Mr. Huskins for introducing me to Daniel Rourke. He's a hoot, a hero I immediately found myself connecting with, and rooting for. He's a hero from a bygone era, a tough, sarcastic son-of-a-you-know what, who's never at a loss for a pithy one-liner. From the start of their investigation to the finish, he and his gruff cop friend Buchanan bicker like an old married couple. Their relationship, although built upon tragedy, is as believable as it is amusing.
For a first novel, Mr. Huskins' writing style is fluid, accomplished and assured. No part of the story is forced or clunky; the reality of every scene is vividly persuasive. There are few lulls in the pace and the narrative never loses momentum or interest, believably accommodating some outrageously bizarre moments. In short, The Hollow Man is a genuinely disturbing tale in a genre that challenges writers to shock and unsettle. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

i just loved it,

If you're a fan of mystery and suspense books, you've got to read The Hollow Man by G. Huskins. It is chock full of unforgettable characters (good, bad, and ugly), offbeat scenes of gore and violence, and eye-for-eye vengeance. Best of all, there are twists, turns and double-crosses galore. If you think you've solved the mystery, if you think you really know what's going on at any point before the book's most satisfying ending, think again. Because you'll be wrong, my friend. Dead wrong.

I found this book at the local library and read it in one day. The Hollow Man was good enough that I had to add it to my personal collection. It was a well-plotted, fast-paced thriller with plenty of red herrings, plot-twists, and genuine surprises - some funny, some throw-up-in-your-mouth gross. If you're a fan of Dexter, Lecter or Bateman, I recommend you check this one out.
