hmm coz of that.... maybe i cant edit july 21
I recently saw r.e.m. on austin city limits
and found their stuff unique and intriguing...
and it had been a while since i had much of any discussion
about the band and back then , i did not get that into what was goin on with them ..just that they were appealing and put me in mind of dylan in a way......
what clues i get in trying to sense what they are about by looking at some of the lyrics of their new album, one sense is their sense of supernatural and jesus... one song they sang had a reference to father and son that seemed probably to be a kind of christian reference...

okay my guess is that they go too much for innuendo ..tho intriguing and insightful kind of immature and lacks the possible deeper commitment and connection that at their age and experience ,,i would think would be more clear and if it is clear but they are into the intriguing aspect more for play than where they are really at.... a bit too dylan immature in terms of spirit but interesting in commentary on human nature ...but let's assume this a real take on their state of human nature at the time , then it is kind of playing the mind game too much and not revealing better things of spirit...and if they dont know better things of spirit by this time a bit too much of the dylan self indulgence kind of mental stuff for all their weltschmerz and intensity tho interesting , until i find out more ..is what i probably would conclude....
by the by i had attempted anotehr review of one of their songs and dont know as it made it as i tried to find it but in that review i had thought i was reviewing it at another site that provided the lyrics so i was confused why there were no lyrics to view in making a review...
all cleared up now
for me anyways..
maybe tho not for u :)
