Lupin's best,
This review is from: The Hollow Needle: Further adventures of Arsene Lupin (Paperback)
Lupin for most, especially young readers, is one of the characters of the Potter saga.
For those who are a bit older, it is a cartoon and manga hero. For those who are even older, Lupin is the villain-hero of a successful, tv-series, produced in France, and based on the character developed by Maurice Leblanc. Leblanc, whose house is now the Lupin's museum, created this gentleman thief, he made him fight against sherlock holmes, and used in several adventures such as the blonde phantom. Of all the Lupin's adventures penned by Leblanc, the Hollow Needle is the best--there is wit, action, intrigue, unexpected twists, references to historical places and events, references to past events that never occurred and there is some romance. It's a lot of fun, it's definitely worth reading.

A well crafted story.,
This review is from: The Hollow Needle: Further adventures of Arsene Lupin (Paperback)
First published in 1909, this is a fast-paced story with "Gentleman Bandit" Arsene Lupin pitting his wits against a brilliant young student named Isidore Beautrelet. A theft, a shooting, and a kidnapping leave the local police baffled. When Beautrelet shows up from out of nowhere offering to help, the police are at first hesitant. But the young man seems to understand the Bandit's mind. Lots of twists and turns and disguises. The author was often compared to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Playing on this, Leblanc gives a character named "Holmlock Shears" an appearance in the book.
Well written. Everything comes together for a great ending.

The book was fine, and shipped quickly. It is an awkward size, however, and looks more like a workbook than paperback novel.
