Something Special in This One,

If you've been following the Lupin stories in order, you'll note that they can run hot and cold. This one has cold parts. It's really the story of a boy genius who's hunting down Lupin; as the other reviewer noted, Lupin is absent for parts of the story. But, unlike some of the Lupin stories, there is a psychological depth here. The boy's relationship with Lupin changes and shifts as the book goes along, to the point where you care about the boy and his adventure. And the last few pages feature Lupin in one of his most memorable and earnest conclusions.
