Born and raised in Hollywood, I am facinated by the history of all the places I've visited and seen growing up as a kid. Thomas Dangcil makes you relive what this glitzy town was and how it came to be.It's great seeing the history of Hollywood unfold before your eyes in this book and how it has transformed itself into a icon of stardom that is re·nowned worldwide.

I'm Los Angeles born and raised, and this ISN'T a simple book of postcards: it's a fantastic slice of Hollywood history containing fabulous pictures accompanied by informed narratives! It's very cool to see pictures of Old Hollywood and compare what is standing at the same location in the present day. I plan to give this as a holiday present to my many friends who are L.A. natives. In all, A FABULOUS BOOK, and a great gift idea -- especially for someone interested in learning about the history of "Old Hollywood" and Los Angeles in general.

I couldn't wait to preorder it here and had to go out and buy it! I've been glued to it ever since. I would have bought it for the beautiful postcards alone, the captions just make it more interesting. It must have taken years to research the information, it's amazing that it's all in one book! What a wonderful tribute to the history of Hollywood!
