This is a window into the part of Hollywood that few are familiar with, namely the jargon used for the past century by the professional newspaper people who cover the business aspect of the scene. Along with the words are 100 funny drawings that appeared in Variety, the foremost publication and the oldest.

This is a fun little book full of terms heard every day in the movie industry, but not necessarily in the rest of the world. It's great for movie buffs who want to sound like the pros. I liked the "dictionary with attitude" style of writing and as an acting teacher, I think of my students and how it will make them that much more confident knowing they have the words or at least have the access to them when they need it.
