Stanley Black has always been my favourite orchestra and pianist since the fifties. As a matter of interest I do own the LP release of "Hollywood Love Themes" purchased in 1958 but never got round to tranfer it to CD. The music really bring back memories of some of the good old movies of those past years.

As an added bonus the CD also contained "The Big Instrumental Hits" album which includes some very well known titles such as Ebb Tide, Blue Tango, The Harry Lime Theme and many more.

Only regret is that the CD recordings did not compensate for Decca's original "bright" tonal reproduction.

My father bougth this album in the 60's. I have this in perfect state, but, obviusly the sound with the years come down. The CD is a very good example of the genius of Mr. Stanley Black, specially "Big instrumental hits".

Stanley Black has the ability to create great orchestrations with terrific players and his arrangements of wonderful music.This is another of his great albums and should be picked up.

I heard the music while listening to Pandora. I purchased the album to use at work. I worked in the recovery room at the local hospital. I believe in soothing music while my patients are awaking from anesthesia. This album received many recommendations from my patients. It was worth the cost.

Stanley Black had the perfect touch in his interpretations of great standards. He also had a great feel for latin rhythms.
