Really Good,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hollywood Stars: Music From The Films Of Mel Gibson (Audio CD)
A great mixture of Mel Gibson film themes, all original. Very relaxing and exciting at the same time. Doesn't have all of his films but still very good. Well worth it.

"bold, breezy and symphonic jazz grace this compilation",
This review is from: Hollywood Stars: Music From The Films Of Mel Gibson (Audio CD)
The ongoing series of HOLLYWOOD STARS presents MUSIC FROM THE FILMS OF MEL GIBSON, something to contemplate is what gives this compilation from Silva Screen Records the grade of A PLUS...just take a gander of the opening track of "THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY"(1982), has Maurice Jarre and Vangelis working side by side, two composer's serve up compositions that compliment each other. Each track is different in content...for example "MAN WITHOUT A FACE"(1993), composer James Horner brings us a haunting theme that has you begging for more, Mel Gibson directed and starred in this vehicle, and Horner's score is most certainly one of his best..."CONSPIRACY THEORY"(1998), music from Carter Burwell captures the essence of The Big Apple, directed by Richard Donner gives our composer a chance to show off his talent for symphonic jazz, with a bold and breezy theme, hits the target for and enjoyable film and a great listen. With guidance from producer James Fitzpatrick...featuring The City Of Prague Philharmonic with conductors Nic Raine and Paul Bateman...Mark Ayres adds his talents...and the Crouch End Festival Chorus directed by David Temple (choir master)...and for your further enjoyment Silva has processed this collection with HDCD(high definition compatable digital) audio recording...GO GET EM', "film-score-buff" collectors! Total Time: 75:43 on 14 Tracks ~ Silva Screen Records SSD-1087 ~ (1998)
