More About the Author

I have the privilege of doing work (i.e., writing books) that I thoroughly enjoy, so it is no real chore to be active on my book projects seven days a week. Doing research is much like being a detective, bringing as many elements of the subject's life to light and assessing how each piece fits into the puzzle of a celebrity's biography.

This review is from: Hollywood's Great Love Teams (Paperback)
This is a great reference book that gives the cast, cedits and a synosis of each film by all the great love teams-- Clark Gable and Joan Crawford, Rock Hudson and Doris Day, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, John Gilbert and Greta Garbo, William Powell and Myrna Loy, Leslie Howard and Bette Davis, Erroly Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, Tyrone Power and Loretta Young, Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, Charles Farrell and Janet Gaynor, Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler, Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald and many others (29 love teams). Includes photos and information on each star. They just don't make reference books like this any more. They don't make great romantic films like this any more-- for that matter! Over 800 pages.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Parrish should get his facts straight!, August 30, 1999
I have read a few of Mr. Parrishs' book including the jeanette macdonald story. Somehow he misses the boat on the true story and that her marriage to Mr. Raymond was a sham! The tearing apart of Mr. Eddy was totally wrong and misdirected! Mr. Parish I read 2 of the books you have out and this will be my last!!!!!!!!!!!!
