I sleep with it on all night and its more of a white noise thing for me and its not loud enough lol so if you want a small quiet fan...go for it.

I'm a picky shopper.
I searched for months for the perfect fan.

It really blows hard, REALLY HARD.
Big huge bunch of air coming out of this little sucker.
I cannot use the high setting because my arm turns blue from the cold.
High speed is great for moving air in the room.
Low speed if it's blowing on you. (what I use it for)
I forgot to write a review after I got it, but now it's a month later and I am dying to have another for my bedroom, so I thought I would let everyone know how much I love it.
My sister loved it too, so she had to order one for herself.

Visual:
1) Beautiful charcoal gray, looks black in a dark room.
2) Very nice looking.
3) I wouldn't hesitate to put it on my desk if I were a CEO.
4) It looks just like the photo, unlike a lot of other items.

Regarding the crappy reviews:
1) There is no rattle, they must have gotten a defective one, or like to complain.
2) The motor is NOT NOISY AT ALL. If you hold the blades, you hear nothing.
3) The noise is from the wind blowing. Seriously, it's like sticking your head out the window of a moving car. Wind makes noise. I think these people just like to complain.

I love mine and I'm off to order another one now.

It has really managed to keep my area in the office cool and with the adjustments that it will let you make, I can angle it just where I want. The noise is mild, but that works out fine as it creates some white noise which I love. Down side for a desk fan is that it is a little big, but the cord is long enough to move it away from my face.

I grew up in the deserts, yes plural. My parents thought it would be fun to move from desert-like state, to desert-like state and see which would be the hottest! Okay, probably not, but they liked the desert more than anyone should and did not appreciate the bill you'd get for running the A/C, much to my despair. So when I tell you I know about fans... I know about fans. No really, I do.

I hate being hot. I cannot stand it to the degree, ha no pun intended!, that when I get too uncomfortably hot I get migraines. That being said I have gone though more fans in my life than I'd care to admit, and I know when I come across a really good and well made fan.

After living in the desert, I up and moved on my own to a lush-green state and found something out... humidity is so much hotter than arid dry heat! BLAH! For about 6 months after moving I could not find a fan that would keep me from melting (reaching critical mass!) and then, my fellow overheated humans, I found the BLIZZARD! The air actually feels cool as it blows out and not like an oven to the face as so many fans do. The current is strong, it's sturdy, it can oscillate(and stay in place), and you can adjust the angle (up/down), and even lock it in place with a turn-y lever thing.

I liked this little beast so much I have 3 of them in my house. One in the bedroom, one in the kitchen, and one in my pc room. I didnt want to keep moving my fan from place to place so I just bought a few extra to keep my entire house cool, and it does. I don't have A/C in my place and I don't need it, not with these mechanical blizzards! :)

I've used Holmes "Lil Blizzard" fans for three years now - I've 3 of them - and I've been very pleased with their ability to push out powerful blasts of air (at the higher setting, sufficient to circulate air in a small room) or cool me as I sleep (at the lowest setting with oscillation on). I run them a lot and they've taken some abuse but they function.

If you're in need of a space-saving, relatively quiet fan that can still circulate the air and reach you several feet away Blizzard is a great value.

In my opinion, this is NOT an optimal fan for a cubicle or a personal desktop fan: it's a bit powerful even at the lowest setting. I'd have to be VERY hot to need that much air. I use a more delicate Lasko Slim tower fan and its minimal breeze works well. But the Bizzard is handy if several people could get some of the air or if the room's exceptionally hot or if the fan's placed some feet away. And it's invaluable, if you've just finished yardwork or exercise or arrived home to a hot house and need to cool off fast.

I'm surprised that some people say the fan's cheaply made or too noisy. That's not my impression at all: for me, the fan's noise at most is like traffic noise a block away and I've frequently noted (as I've moved the Blizzard about) how sturdy it seems.

I use this fan in my cubicle at work.

It matches the Black phone and black lamp and looks professional.

More importantly, it is reliable and consistent and keeps me cool!

The base is large enough that any reasonable jostle or push can be absorbed.

Great little fan! I recommend it!

I bought this fan to use as white noise while sleeping. On the low speed, it produces a very pleasant white noise that is great for sleeping and blocking out intermittent sounds from outside or around the house. On the high speed, however, it creates an annoying pulsing sound, so I just keep it on low. Also gives a nice, cool breeze if it's too stuffy in the room. Overall, a great little fan.
