Powerful for size, but noisy,

This little fan is stylish and moves a lot of air for its size. However it is noisier than the average fan. On the high setting it is quite noisy, to the point of where you have to raise your voice to carry on a conversation. On low it is still noisier than you would expect it to be, too noisy to be used in the bedroom to sleep unless you want some white noise to drown out street noises. Low does move enough air to feel it from several feet away.

Noisy and not powerful,
By Nathan Beauchamp "ConsumerAdvocate" (Oak Park, IL USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 50 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)

I've been searching for the perfect office fan for sometime now. I've used the following fans in the last 6 months:
1) Honeywell HT-900C 2) Honeywell Duracraft DT-75 Personal 2-Speed Fan 3) This one (Holmes HANF76BLZ07-UC Blizzard) Of these three, the Blizzard is easily the worst. It is by far the noisiest--so loud that it's completely unsuitable for use in an office if you want to be able to hear people on the phone (or hear yourself think). It also is inferior in the amount of air it pushes around. The Duracraft is much smaller, quieter, and pushes just as much air. The only advantage to the Blizzard model is that it has adjustable tilt so you can aim it better. Other than that, it's a waste of money. Review of each fan: Honeywell HT-900C: The most powerful of the bunch, and has a tilting stand, although over time it gets loose so that it's harder to keep it adjusted where you set it. Generates strong air currents with moderate noise. I own several of these and use them in my home. They're a rock-solid design that's been around for a while now. Airflow: 5 Stars Noise level: 3 Stars Build Quality: 4 Stars Features: 4 Stars Final rating: 4 Honeywell Duracraft DT-75: Small, quiet, and powerful enough, this would be the best of the bunch if not for its lack of a tilting stand. It works well if you put it directly on your desktop, but otherwise it's hard to get the airflow aimed where you want it. I'd give this fan 5 stars except for that limitation. Airflow: 4 Stars Noise Level: 5 Stars Build Quality 3 Stars Features: 3 Stars Final Rating: 3.5 Holmes HANF76BLZ07-UC Blizzard Airflow: 2 Stars Noise Level: 1 Star Build Quality: 4 Stars Features: 3 Stars Final Rating: 2 I hope this helps you choose the best option for your personal fan.

I bought this fan specifically for white noise while my baby is sleeping. It's exactly what I was looking for and the price is right! It's not quiet and not TOO loud, either. Absolutely perfect.
