Way too loud for such a small fan. Also, has an awkward mechanism when it oscillates. Has a catch when it gets all the way to one side and the motor slows down.

I bought one of these fans last year because we were tired of the short life of plastic fans. We kind of liked the nostalgic look of the fan also. I have nothing negative to say about it. It runs smooth, fairly quiet and is very efficient. I would recommend this fan. Here in the desert, we use fans to circulate the air conditioned air around better and this one does that well. We were so impressed, we are online to buy another one!

Looks cool, but so loud that I stopped using it after just a few days. The low setting is annoying while the high setting is deafening! Tiny little blades that don't push much air. Now it just sits on my shelf looking nice while a real fan does the work.

I am a scenic designer for a Houston based theatre company. I purchased a couple of these fans 4 years ago for a show. They were a great look, and priced right for the vintage look we were shooting for. Since that time I have had one of them on my desk. For those that don't know Houston has two seasons Summer and February. It runs almost constantly in what can be a dusty enviromnet. I love it I would not hesitate to purchase anohter

I bought this fan on clearance for [$$$] at a local store. Well it's going back. It's beautiful to look and and a nice heavy base but as far as fans go it hardly blows any air and strictly for a desk but the down side is that by the time you sit in front of it at a desk it is so darn noisy. I bought three different types of fans that Holmes makes and they are all terrible at moving air. The blades are just too thin. ...

Very solidly built little fan. Faithfully retro in all details. Has a nice gentle hum that reminds me of summers past. This is my second one I'm ordering, I want one for the bedroom as well.
